Our trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula will be one of the best memories of our trip to Iceland. Compared to the other tours we took (Golden Circle and South Coast) it was the least crowded. Our guide Carlos’ enthusiasm for the area was contagious. He had plenty of knowledge about the area. We had plenty of time at each stop. The homemade lunch and walk along the cliffs were two of our favorite stops. We had a clear day with little to no wind, which made the glacier visible to us throughout the day. We also enjoyed walking on the beaches. Despite it being a long day there was always something to see out the window of the bus. I would visit this area again In a heartbeat!!

Our favorite tour on our whole trip! The small group is really key and gives you a much better experience! Our tour guide, Halli was amazing! Personable, knowledgeable, funny, and just lovely to spend the day with. We had frigid, windy, unexpectedly snowy weather and still had a fantastic day! We felt like we had enough time at each stop to take it all in without feeling rushed. The minibus was comfortable to travel long distances in. The home cooked meal at the horse farm was delicious! And it was a lovely break from driving where we could all sit, eat and talk. I would absolutely seek out East West for more tours if we’re able to make it back to Iceland. If you the time available I would absolutely recommend booking this tour!

great tour guide with nice lunch provided

The tour was really great , although the weather wasnt really good , the guide simon take care of us well , he stay with the group in all sightseeing places, and provide us lots of fun Iceland story and knowledge. The snowy weather actually also bring out another kind of beauty on Iceland . The homemade lunch was nice too , we stay in a cozy place and had several types of Icelandic dishes , unlike other tours , we need to go to popular sightseeing spot for quick lunch , this actually provides us good time to rest too :)) will recommend this tour to you :))

This was an incredible tour, in the height of winter!! We had a group of 16 and the small bus was very comfortable, the scenery gorgeous, the lunch really delicious. Carlos, the driver/guide is what made the entire day special! So knowledgeable, happy positive attitude, and all around great guide. Thank you Carlos!!

Amazing tour!! Jam-packed and full of stunning diverse landscapes! Hidden waterfalls, mountains, black pebble beaches, breathtaking cliffs and coastline arches and a phenomenal home cooked meal with the best fish I’ve had ever and out of all my meals during my time in Iceland. Tour guide was personable, entertaining, accommodating and top notch! Super comfortable minibus…Highly recommend this amazing tour! Highlight of my trip. Thank you eastwest travel!

This was "absolutely" the best day of my trip. Do this if you're on the fence about what to do. The tour guide was beyond fantastic. Bjorn is the best; if there were an official position for "Great Tour Guide in the History of Iceland," it would be Bjorn every time. I had another tour to compare him to; he leads the pack of tour guides. You'll stop in some beautiful locations and the home-cooked meal, forget about it, it was the best fish I have ever had. Truly, exceptional.

Walking and hiking along the coast was spectacular. Halli was a great tour guide, we all enjoyed his story telling. Loved the hearty home cooked meal at the farm house. Waterfalls were beautiful!

Worst tour I’ve ever been on. I emailed that it was my birthday requesting not to be split from my husband as our hotel was last for pickup. Well my reward is they arrived an hour late claiming vehicle shortage. Hotel warned us they’re always late. Guide lacked knowledge of route playing music 95% of drive with silence mainly the rest of time. Worst of all was the great lunch on a farm where they jammed us in a small room with a large tour group supposedly was unexpected. Place was filthy full of flies. Worst money spent on Iceland.

Dear Viviane, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience. We are sorry to hear that the tour was not up to our principles and we have made some changes since your review. Regarding the pickup system, unfortunately there is little room to change it as we have locations all around Reykjavik and outskirts, some of them being 25' (one way) from the downtown area. We put a window of 30 minutes and we try to stick to it, but since we have multiple locations to go to collect other passengers is not always possible. Regarding the farm lunch, we are sorry to hear that it was not up to your standards. The place it's a horse farm in the countryside, they offer lovely fish (freshly caught each morning) and some other delicacies, however part of the charm of being in a farm includes the sensory experience characteristics of this places. We hope you enjoyed Iceland nonetheless

Beautiful part of Iceland! The farmhouse food was excellent. The bus was crowded and completely full, plus it turned into a little over 12 hours instead of 11. This was mostly due to other passengers ignoring the timeline, which is why I prefer smaller groups.

Guide, a Spanish geologist, was fantastic and spent the full eleven hours giving information about both the tour and the sights, in addition to a short description of plate tectonics, vulcanology and the mid-Atlantic ridge.

Spectacular Snaefellsnes

We had a wonderful day exploring Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Helli, our guide, was knowledgeable, entertaining, and upbeat throughout the less than perfect weather conditions. The scenery was spectacular, we spent just the right amount of time at all of the stops, and the home-cooked meal was simply prepared and absolutely delicious. The only negative- which is not Helli or the tour company’s fault, is the inadequate facilities. Be prepared to wait in long lines for toilets. There are just not enough of them to support the large number of tourists…
