What To Expect

Meet a driver at your hotel in Reykjavik, then begin the 93-mile (150-km) trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. The first stop of the day is the black sand beach of Djupalónssandur, where the rock worn smooth by countless waves, to learn about its rich history.

Then drive to Kirkjufell, a stunningly-formed mountain peak whose name means "Church Mountain," and looms behind the scenic waterfalls at the base.

As you drive, Snæfellsjökull will dominate the horizon as you travel, and you’ll find stunning views of the ancient stratovolcano, which is capped with a shining glacier. Stop at the Londrangar viewpoint to admire the rock formations.

The final stop is the village of Arnarstapi, for a scenic walk along a row of jagged cliffs. Then begin the return trip to Reykjavik, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Not to miss journey
Barry_S, Mar 2023
Incredible journey not to miss. Scenery unbelievable - no reservations. Easy to book, reliable pick up.
A must visit peninsula in Iceland
Deimante_U, Mar 2023
Had a wonderful day with HBO, really must-see places in Iceland, you get enough time to appreciate the sites.
A very expensive (and long) bus ride!
Pablo_V, Mar 2023
The operator changed the time of the pick up from 8am to 9am, which of course, impacted those who had a Northern Line tour booked for that evening. Their van is extremely unfortable, with barlerly any leg room and for those poor souls sitting in the last row they don't even get a view as there's no window! The driver had the first seat "reserved" for his personal belongings, which means 4 people had to squeeze at the back. 11 horas drive and only 4 stops to do some sightseeing and a strict 15min each (the driver would tell people off, on the microphone, if they were 2min late). Our "guide" was in reality a driver, with little knowledge of Icelandic history & culture and on a few occasions missed or took a wrong turn and had to use Google maps. There were 2 stops of 20min (at petrol stations where it seemed the tour had a sort of agreement with the shops) compared to the 15min given to do some sightseeing. The driver spent a good 20 minutes taking fish orders from the group, then calling a restaurant to pre order lunch (again, some sort of agreement with the place) he would then talk about this restaurant and their fish for hours, people at this point started putting their headphones on. Don't get me wrong, the Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life, shame my experience was ruined by a company that doesn't care about the comfort, and sometimes safety, of their customers. Iceland again? Absolutely! Bus Travel Iceland Tour again? NEVER
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Dear Pablo_V, We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your Snaefellsnes Peninsula & Kirkjufell Mountain Full Day Tour. We take our customers' feedback seriously and would like to address your concerns. Firstly, we'd like to clarify that the change in pick-up time was due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We understand that this impacted your plans for the evening, and we're sorry for the inconvenience this caused. Regarding the comfort of our vehicle, we're disappointed to hear that you found the van uncomfortable. We'd like to assure you that our bus is a Mercedes Sprinter 2021 year model. On the bus, we have 23 seats, but we limit the number of guests to 19 to provide more comfort and space. We would like to clarify that the last four seats on the bus are intentionally left unoccupied in order to provide our customers with ample space and comfort during their journey. However, we do offer the option for customers to use those seats if they so choose. We're also surprised to hear that you found our guide lacking in knowledge of Icelandic history and culture. Our guide is a highly professional and educated individual with many years of experience in the tourism industry, and we receive many positive feedbacks from our customers about their knowledge and expertise. We would like to highlight that our guide on this tour is a true professional with extensive knowledge and experience in Icelandic history, culture, and natural wonders. However, we will review their training and ensure that they have the necessary information to provide the best experience possible for our customers. Regarding the itinerary, we apologize if you felt that there were not enough stops for sightseeing. However, we try to strike a balance between the number of stops and the time spent at each location to ensure that our customers can see as much as possible in one day. We have carefully crafted itineraries based on years of experience and customer feedback to ensure that our guests have the opportunity to see the most beautiful sights on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, including Kirkjufell Mountain. Once again, we're sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. We strive to provide the best possible service to our customers, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our services. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Kind regards, Andrius
Amazing trip

Dennis was a legend! He really went above and beyond. This tour was the highlight of our Iceland trip. There were no other tourist vans or really anyone else about on the stops (unlike golden circle, south coast etc). Felt like you were going off the beaten track a bit more.
Highly Recommend

This was my favorite tour I did all week! The scenery was unparalleled. Our guide, Denis, was knowledgeable and personable. I really enjoyed being in a small group. Thank you Denis!
Best tour with the best guide
vivian_a, Mar 2023
Perfect tour with the best tour guide and driver. Comfortable trip with just the perfect amount of leisure time. Loved the sagas and historic insight that our tour guide gave us. Kind, patient and accommodating, too. The scenery was spectacular. We got to see so much of this beautiful peninsula. Couldn’t have wished for more.
Solo birthday trip

An amazing trip with beautiful stops. Long drive but so worth it. Our guide was great and informative. Iceland is a magical place which has left my heart really full. Will come back in the summer as the landscape will be so different.
A very good ecoerience
John_K, Mar 2023
This was a wonderful tour although the beginning was extremely windy and foggy the first destination was actually too windy to even explore. Its believed to be the norm. The waterfalls were very nice and seeing the church and the seals at the end was the highlight of this tour. The tour guide and driver were both very good. Lots of stories told about Iceland. I admire the drivers experience too having to battle through 100mph+ winds and fog at one stage. He was very experienced. Highly recommend this tour if you are into good views and waterfalls. The weather can sometimes get harsh though.
Do the peninsula tour!
Gary_T, Mar 2023
This was a very good day out, with some incredible sights. Our driver- Tony, also did good double duty as our guide, but the only thing I'd say for that is that for a tour this long, perhaps a separate person should do that.
Dramatic landscape, not alot legrm.
mat_s, Feb 2023
Long busride but interesting guide, Tony. I'm 6feet and the minibus seats didn't have enough legroom for me.
❤️
Milagros_S, Feb 2023
Our tour was great. The peninsula was filled with beautiful sights. Lunch in the Skerr restaurant was very good. Our driver was beyond great. He is from that area and was informative as well. We encountered a snow storm on the way back and was stop and do for a bit but he got us thru it and made it back safely.
Amazing trip

Shout out to Omar for making this an excellent trip, he stopped at extra stops and we even got to feed some Icelandic horses. Very beautiful landscape, highly recommend
Fantastic day trip to the peninsula
Paul_M, Feb 2023
Fantastic trip along the peninsula. The sights were amazing. Our guide/driver was brilliant. The mountains are beautiful.
Amazing trip
Susan_M, Feb 2023
This was an amazing trip with wonderful stories told by Sonia to understand the history of the peninsula. The scenery in winter was absolutely stunning. Our driver (name sounded like Gillie) did an absolutely incredible job of bringing us home safely through a blizzard.
A wonderful dayout
Shireen_W, Feb 2023
We had a fun friendly tourguide -Tom who was very chillaxed about the schedule. We had enough time to see each view points and had a great time. We also luckily saw the northern lights on the way back where we stopped for a while to watch, and our our tourgroup were very grateful. Thank you for the great day Tom! Being the driver and the tourguide is not easy and appreciate all the effort to ensure we all had a good time. Definitely recommend this day tour ! #dancingdragons #dragons
Great Day-Trip
Marius_B, Feb 2023
Great day trip. Our guide, Karol, was great. He adjusted the order of our stops to ensure the best lighting conditions/weather conditions possible at each location. Also, the restaurant he brought us to for lunch and the fish he recommended off the menu was awesome. Highly recommend.
The Snaesfullsnes Peninsula Tour
Shirley_H, Jan 2023
This tour was quite spectacular despite the rainy weather. It is a long tour but definitely worth it. Our guide Howser was very informative and added extra stops of interest along the way. The scenery was stunning and watching the gigantic waves from the cliff and on the beach was totally fascinating. We visited the beautiful black church, an extinct volcano and Kirkjufell mountain and waterfalls. I would highly recommend this tour.
Lovely day in Snaefellsnes
Julia_B, Jan 2023
Our guide was wonderful. He played Icelandic music for the whole day which was great and gave a good amount of information on everything we were seeing. He found spots that few others were at. We got to walk along and down to the coast line as well as take quick picture stops. The tour is perfectly timed. The only eh thing is how pickup works but it seems to be a necessary evil for the amount of tours that this company does every day.
The trip was canceled. I...

The trip was canceled. I am expecting a full refund to my credit card. Very disappointed as my entire family was looking forward to this experience
A wonderful trip with a wonderful guide.

Siggy was a very nice, humouristic and shareful guide. My wife and I enjoyed a lot all the trip, the landscapes we discovered, the stories Siggy told us and the icelandic culture he explained us.
