Pickup details

All hotels in downtown Reykjavik are at a no pick up zone by the city. Therefore you will need to walk to the nearest bus stop. It should be 2-5 minute walk from your hotel. To choose what bus stop. Kindly check the voucher for the website and type in your hotel address and choose which bus stop you want to be picked from and please select one and let us know. You need to be ready at 09:00 or 13:00 or 17:00 - depending on what departure you book. The pick-up can take up to 30 min.

What To Expect

Riding an all-terrain quad bike is the perfect way to explore the remote, rugged landscape surrounding Reykjavík—much of it inaccessible by car or coach. Your adventure begins with pickup at your Reykjavik hotel and a short drive to base camp.

Meet your experienced guides and gear up with a safety helmet, gloves and thermal overalls to stay warm throughout the open-air adventure. You can choose to ride solo in your own vehicle or double up with a friend or family member on a dual-passenger bike.

Drivers get an overview of operating the quad bikes and time to practice before the convoy sets off into the wintry landscape. Cruise along paved roads at first as you head along the outskirts of the city toward beautiful Lake Hafravatn. Admire the glassy surface surrounded by pastures and snow-capped peaks, and then venture deeper into the remote landscape on gravel paths. Feel the full power of your quad bike as you cruise up to the summit of Reykjavik Peak, where you can take in spectacular views of Reykjavik and neighboring ranges.

Continue riding up steep mountain tracks and often-icy terrain to the second of the twin peaks, Wolf Peak Mountain. The summit here offers even more breathtaking views of the otherworldly Icelandic countryside and attractions like Mt. Esja and the Blue Mountain range.

Then, shed your gear and hop back in the transfer vehicle for the return trip to your Reykjavik hotel.

Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required. You must use the 'Single Rider Extra' to indicate how many will be riding solo on a bike (if any).

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

This was our first tour taken on our trip to Iceland. The tour guide was awesome. Shout out to Arthur. The weather was cold and windy but they bundled us up well and we never felt the cold. It would have been spectacular if we could have had better visability but not much you can do about Mother Nature. We just made the best of it and had a great experience.

An outstanding experience from start to finish. We were picked up at our hotel, fitted out with coveralls, gloves and helmets (including clean head covers and freshly-cleaned visors), ATV's worked great and the guides broke us into 2 groups on skill level, which was awesome. Plenty of driving and great views, more than enough time at the top of the peaks to take all the views in, get great pics and video and ask questions of the guides. Given ride back to our hotel as well to boot! We plan on coming back to Iceland in the winter and will book this adventure again.

Very bad experience . I fell off ATV . And broke an elbow. If you never done it and hesitated , just think twice . Our guide Sir Cactus was unprofessional, reckless guy, not attentive guide . He didn’t allow us to practice a little bit before heading towards . We stopped after 1 min drive once and guide asked if we are ok . I said I feel not comfortable, feel off . He answered in 10 min you will feel ok . In 2 min I was hurt . My trip finished with broken ellbow in the hospital . 🤪😒 Another guide - didn’t ask his name —-helped me a lot with picking a right size of outfit, adjusting my glasses and so on while our guide Sir Cactus was somewhere . Bad bad guide . Will never recommend . Wish he would be my guide .

Get the solo ATV!

I had originally purchased the two person ATV to ride with my husband and I switched to a solo ATV when we got there for the up-charge. I am so glad I did!! It was a lot of fun. Our group was only four people and we moved at a great pace. We drove on the main roads to get to the mountains, I was surprised how fast we drove!

Viator is awful!!!

My ATV experience was great but, my experience with Viator has been absolutely terrible! I had to cancel my tour to the Golden Circle because my daughter was terribly sick in the middle of the night twelve hours before pickup time. She was vomiting and was dehydrated and I canceled the tour clearly stating the circumstances. Viator will not refund me my $320 dollars because I did not cancel within the 24 period and I could not reschedule the tour for the next day due to the facts we were flying home. I filed a grievance with my credit card company because I will not pay for a tour that I did not go on. If I took my daughter on the tour to the Golden Circle she would have vomited on the tour guide, but maybe that's what they wanted since they are only concerned about money and not about their costumers!!!!

Incredible experience! It can get very windy, but they suit you in a full jumpsuit. The guides are very friendly and make sure you are comfortable. I would do this again, 10 out of 10.

So fun! My wife never rode an ATV but felt comfortable with instruction and well guided tour. Our guide “Sircactus” was funny, knowledgable and kept the pace of the ride fun for those of us with experience but helped those that needed to go slower. The terrain was varied, challenging with beautiful views. The ATVs were high quality CanAm Outlanders that were very comfortable, fast, powerful but easy to handle. The gear provided kept us warm and dry. Would go back next time for sure. Well worth the money.

This ATV safari was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. I can’t commend Stefan enough who lead our group! He was engaging, attentive (as well as very patient) and checked everyone was able / enjoying the experience as well as giving encouragement / explaining where we would be going and the terrain involved. The 2+ hours involved driving on a mixture of road (short section to get to tracks) and then tracks which were a combination of straight forward to more challenging which required 4WD. The landscape was amazing when you weren’t having to concentrate on negotiating sections and views from both mountains were fabulous. A great way to see the beautiful countryside off the beaten track. Thanks again Stefan for making our experience one to remember!
