What To Expect

Start your full-day tour from your Reykjavik hotel, and enjoy the scenery from the comfort of your Mercedes Benz minibus as you journey into Iceland’s countryside.

On route, hear tales from your guide about the Golden Circle, and each site’s place in Icelandic history and folklore. Stay refreshed with complimentary on-board snacks and use the on-board WiFi as you wish.

Enter UNESCO-listed Thingvellir Park and observe the geological rift where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Gaze at the ridges of the two continents, and see Althing, site of the world’s first parliamentary gathering in 930 AD.

Stop to admire the two-tier falls of Gullfoss, whose name means ‘Golden Falls,’ and be sure to capture photos of the cascades as they plunge into a gorge.

Visit Geysir, an active geothermal area of bubbling springs and geysers. Walk around the pools and see the mighty Strokkur geyser erupt, shooting high into the air every few minutes.

Along the way, break for lunch (own expense) and make an additional stop at another natural treasure — the Faxi waterfall. Admire this picturesque fall and see the salmon ladder built beside it that allows salmon to journey upriver.

Your tour concludes with a hotel drop-off.

Hveragerdi

The first stop of the day is the town Hveragerði, where we have a short restroom stop. Hveragerði is about 45 min drive from Reykjavik. There are restrooms, a bakery and an exhibition about earth quakes. Consider this a short pit-stop on our way to the Golden Circle.

Faxi (Vatnsleysufoss) Waterfall

Faxi is sometimes called the little brother of Gullfoss, it is a small but beautiful waterfall in the Golden Circle area. Through Faxi runs the salmon fishing river Tungufljót. There are viewing platforms from up above the waterfall and guests can also have an intimate experience as they walk almost all the way up to Faxi. Despite its small stature compared to Gullfoss, up close its strength can not be denied.

Stay Away - Did not do the tour promised
stacey_t, Mar 2023
Paul was our driver. Played Icelandic music on the drive. Very little conversation, half the time we couldn’t hear as he forgot to turn on the mic. 4 stops on the tour. We only went to 3. We were not informed at any point in the tour we would not be stopping at Kazin waterfall. When I asked about this as Paul was dropping us off in Reykjavik, Paul informed the Faxi waterfall was closed. Hmmm. It was open for our Airbnb neighbors who took a golden circle tour the same day my party did. 25% of the promised tour not done. I would not recommend this tour provider.
Our trip to Iceland with limited time
Jak_N, Mar 2023
Wow wow wow. According to our wonderful guide Baldwin, we had the best day of the year. He really took his time to show our group around and took it upon himself to extend the tour by more than an hour. A very good way to see a bit of Iceland when you have limited time. Must do. Perfect # of people, we were 19 in total. Thank you Baldwin for an unforgettable experience.
Really worth going on its an experience of a lifetime
John_K, Feb 2023
It was a very good tour exploring real geysers and feeling the steam also a lot of beautiful mountain scenes. The tour guide Darren was very professional and a real pleasure to be with. I enjoyed the talks he gave about Icelandic life and how they are replanting trees I found it fascinating. The only area It can be improved on is if it was better organised at the beginning. It would be a good idea if they can make bays for the buses for each tour with it well signposted, as at the moment people have to try to find the buses themselves among many buses with the same name. It meant I had to join a different tour company to the one I booked previously as I was worried about missing the tour by not being able to find the right bus Its the only reason I can't mark it perfect, as I really enjoyed the tour itself loads
Insane! highly recommend

One of the best tours we signed up to! Operated by Your Day Tours we had a fantastic tour guide, Monica. Engaging, informative and energetic. You could see the passion and we learnt so much. She also stopped at other smaller stops like the bakery and farm and even for ice cream. Her stories were interesting and she gave some good suggestions too when asked. I would definitely recommend this tour even though pick up is extremely early. It’s worth it. Amazing and thank you!
Best day tour

Monica is a great guide. She is a very happy and informative guide. I highly recommend this tour. Going on a small bus is definitely better than the bigger buses. So many amazing sights seen an this tour.
An experience unlike any other !!
Jeannie_M, Feb 2023
Travelling on snow filled roads into a winter wilderness filled with beautiful waterfalls and the most extraordinary landscape. Very friendly tour guide.
Would book again!
Corban_R, Feb 2023
We were picked up promptly in a very nice looking mini-bus. clean and comfortable inside. Devin, our tour guide, was very friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgable about the history of Iceland in general and various sights. We loved the tour so much that we want to do it again in the summer just to rediscover Iceland in full bloom. With the smaller group it was more intimate and we were able to cover more ground quicker without having to wait for people at every stop. Even tho it was an 8 hour trip and upwards of 45 mins from one stop to another I felt completely engaged and the time flew by, Devin always had an interesting tid bit or funny story to tell. It was the highlight of our trip.
Stunning tour
Catherine_C, Feb 2023
Our guide collected us promptly from outside our hotel and was entertaining and knowledgeable throughout-thanks Deven!! I think we could have done with 15 mins more at the second waterfall stop and I’m not sure the ice cream stop was needed. But a great day out with spectacular scenery.
Otto was really good...we...

Whistle stop adventure
Heather_K, Jan 2023
Long day but plenty of rest stops for coffee/wc/lunch. It was a particularly cold day with a biting wind but Otto - our guide was good at thinking on his feet and adjusting rest stops etc. lots to see - this is really just a whistle stop but good fun
Recommend this tour to kick off your Iceland adventures
Carla_F, Jan 2023
Great tour! This is a great excursion based out of Reykjavik. Mini bus (20 people) vs. the larger buses to it is more personable. Our tour guide Monica was incredibly informative and really friendly. She even offered to give us advice for the next leg of our trip.
Worth while
Karen_s, Jan 2023
Great trip with a smaller group the guide very good and was interested in his guests very knowledgable about Iceland plenty of time to explore at all the stops
Excellent tour guide. Really made the day a memorable experience.
Jane_D, Jan 2023
The Waterfall and the National Park. However, our tour guide (Monika) was excellent in giving us information about everything.
Perfect trip for the day!
Kathy_H, Jan 2023
This was a crazy day for weather! We made it and it turned out to be a beautiful sunny cold day! Every attraction we went to, was absolutely amazing. The only one we didn’t get to go to was Thingviller National Park. The roads were not cleared of snow. But our AMAZING tour guide/driver, Devin, not Kevin, was awesome! He shared a lot with us and made the long day in the van seem to go by super fast. He also made it fun with his humor and great music! Thanks for getting us there and back safely!
Great time had by all
Sophie_W, Jan 2023
Fab day had by all. We were very lucky with the weather but the guide (Gusti) made it interesting and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend!!
Great tour!
Danilo_M, Dec 2022
We really had a great time in this tour. No boring time . Kevin, the tour guide cum driver is fantastic, like disc jockey on the radio while driving telling stories of the places we visited. Very knowledgeable and very approachable and kind. Highly recommended.
Nice tour guide, lousy vehicle.
Michael_B, Dec 2022
The tour was okay, but the company packed us into an 18 passenger van, filled every seat. Seat spacing much worse than an airline seat. Made us wait 25 minutes for pickup and we were stuck with last row seats. Felt every bump for the entire 6 hours. Not sure if other companies packed their vans too, but I did see regular 50+ buses on the tour. Glad I didn't get a leg cramp. I don't think company should EVER seat someone in the last row for a 6 hr tour.
Great day out
Sian_P, Nov 2022
Visited in November; weather was terrible but we did not stop laughing the whole day. Our guide (Ivor) was very knowledgeable with tales of Icelandic folk stories and Icelandic music. It was a nice touch in addition to all the sightseeing spots. A reasonable amount of time spent at each location. Would have been nice to see the animals out in the fields when we stopped at the farm, but maybe that was due to the weather.
We enjoyed Your Day Tour's Golden Circle Full Day Tour Guided by Wally
Dawn_W, Nov 2022
We really enjoyed the Golden Circle tour with Wally. He was informative and we enjoyed being able to see waterfalls, animals, and scenic landscapes during the drive. The pick up and dropoff were smooth and efficient. Would be to allow more time during the lunch break, since we also wanted time to see the geyser area as well.
Fantastic Day Out - 10/10 Devin!
Lorraine_V, Nov 2022
A great way to see ‘The Golden Circle’ - our guide was amazing! Everything was well organised and timed to perfection. Lots of additional photo opportunities throughout the day - don’t forget your camera!
