Good tour

This tour was a good, quick overview of the Colosseum. We learned a lot, and was just the right amount of time spent there. Any longer and it would have been too much. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Since we were the only two scheduled for the express tour, they decided to add us on the regular Colosseum tour, which was fine there were 25 people on the tour. The tour guide did a thorough job and reviewed really everything you need to know about the Colosseum inside and out. We left after the last stop inside the Colosseum as 90 minutes was and is more than enough time to learn about the Colosseum and explore. Unless you're an absolute history buff, the express tour should suffice if you want the nuts and bolts about the Colosseum.

Overall fantastic tour. We got really lucky booking same day for 3 people at 3:15 but don't follow our lead. Plan ahead! The meeting spot was an easy find. There is a cute pug that will greet you if you're lucky. Loopy is the name. Back to the tour: Our tour guide, Denis, is a passionate local and spoke excellent English. He did a remarkable job painting the Roman life with every step we took. We loved how well he kept us intrigued by pointing out things that we would have not noticed if we toured the Colosseum on our own. During the tour, we saw looming dark and ominous clouds approaching the Colloseum great photo op and later it rained. Denis took us to a shelter and instead of stopping the tour, he brought to life the historical power figures and their drama in his storytelling. Our group grew loyal and stuck around til the end. Bravo, Denis. Notes: Worth the price. The meeting spot was easy. The skipped the line is legit and went straight to the gate. The entire walk through the main entrance will give you chills. Ample space to move around. Keep close to your guide. The radio/headpiece frequency will let you know if you stray far. Do bring a water bottle. There is a fountain inside for refills. Bring a fan/sunscreen/hat for the summer. Tip your guide!
