This trip was recommended by my brother . Needed a day to get out of city. It was very interesting. Really enjoyed the guide and the info he provided. Having a small group 14 was great. The lunch was excellent!!!! I highly recommend this tour! 👍🏻

Although it was raining on the day of this tour, that was not the problem with the tour. The guide was not very clear in communicating in English. It was a challenge to understand him. it didn't seem like he was passionate about the topic. We covered two huge villas with a lot of details - recommend that any guide takes the time to explain slowly and provide time for the guests to take pictures while we are passing by instead of asking to go through the tour first and then make the 2nd round to take pictures.

Transportation was not clean, windows dirty and black finger tips all over, restaurant selected for lunch was just ok but the location was not ideal for the cost of the tour. This was more the work quality I have received from your company

The excursion to Hadrian’s Villa was interesting but didn’t include enough time to see more than a small part of a large complex. Our guide Giuseppe was good, but not outstanding. Lunch was very disappointing. I should have heeded those reviews that said you could do better on your own. Villa d’Este was interesting but not much time was spent on the Villa itself. The gardens and fountains were spectacular, especially being able to hear the “water piano” actually play. The van transporting our tour was too small for our group and made for an uncomfortable ride to/from the site. On whole, an average tour.
Really great and really bad

Firs the really bad - the food. If you have the option of not pre-paying for your food and going to any restaurant you choose during the meal break - do this. I was expecting more than the flavor of Chef Boyardee. The Amazing - The fountains and gardens are absolutely gorgeous. I took more pictures here than any other place in Rome. The Interesting - Hadrian's Villa - architecturally impressive but I could have lived without learning about how morally despicable he was.

Terrible tour! Began with almost an hour delay. The pick-up location is at a busy corner with zero places to sit. No one to call to find out if the guide was ever coming for this group of about 30 people. We thought this was to be a small group. The big city like bus finally arrived. The driver seem to be almost following asleep and the drive goes around a lot of curves up a steep mountain. The guide was all about RUSHING! He was in almost a sprint the entire time. We saw very little of Hadrian’s Villa, just a big pond. The guide talked non-stop as he was rushing ahead of the group, so it was almost impossible to hear him & forget asking a question. He was not likely to take any notice. When you arrive at the lunch place, we had to walk about 8 blocks, passing lovely outdoor restaurants along the way. We ate at a very plain restaurant inside at the end of the street. Nothing special in atmosphere, food or service. Our tour was the only people in the place. The lunch time was overly generous for this place. Finally entered the Villa, we took off on our own & enjoyed the gardens. We were then rushed several blocks through town for our bus. Last time we take a Viator tour. The bus ride back down the hill was a bit terrifying. The driver was going way too, faster than any other cars & we were on a narrow curvy road.
Fountains and beauty galore!

Best tour in Italy yet. It was wonderful to get out of the city and see the Villas- and what wonderful surprises there were! I could’ve spent an entire day with the fountains. The optional lunch was the best meal I’ve had since coming to Italy- but being a bit of a foodie, I will say I find the food here overhyped and sub par compared to France and the US standards. But the lunch was simple, delicious, and the restaurant itself was charming. Well worth doing. I liked how the guide Giuseppe regularly checked on me and made sure I was comfortable- I was traveling solo. If you aren’t at least moderately fit this will be difficult for you- beware! Many many steps and hills/steep inclines. You don’t need to go fast though, and most of the stairs you can do at your own pace during free time- about half could be optional. I highly recommend! Though, I’m glad I went in off season. Cheers!

The ruins were impressive. They date back to 1bc. The Villa D’Esti was amazing with all the water feathers and the wall frescoes. Lunch was okay. Would do it again.

Trip to Pompeii from Rome

The guide in Pompeii was excellent and the lunch restaurant was an unexpectedly good choice. Great view. However, the pickoff and drop off is problematic. The pyramid when you return is dark and empty. Hard to even get a taxi. The suggestion to use public transport after a long day was not a good idea for foreigners not familiar with the subway system and fatigued. We were given directions to walk to a train station where we could order a cab. Again it was dark and that was not a comfortable experience.

Both villas were very interesting. The Hadrian Villa was very impressive having been built around 2000 years ago and Villa d’Este and all its fountains and water features war very beautiful and memorable. Also Giuseppe, our local guide was very knowledgeable. All in all we enjoyed it very much.

The two villas themselves are definitely worth seeing. The whole trip was relatively well organised and the guide had charm. Lunch was rubbish. If there is a cheaper booking option without lunch I would recommend that, there are plenty of places to eat in Tivoli.

The bus we were in stinks! Smelled cigarette. The driver did not speak English at all so we could not even ask questions. The tour guide dressed unprofessional, Terrible experience!
