Early church history
Jordan_W, Mar 2023
The Catacomb tour brought to life the reality of persecution in the early church. A must see for anyone intersected in the history of the church.
My second visit
Stine_K, Mar 2023
I wish the trip was longer so we could see even more. The most memorable thing was all the small graves, family graves and the paintings that was still intact.
St. Callistus could have skipped.
Christine_A, Jan 2023
We did have a great guide, but there were no actual bones in the catacombs and you could not take any pictures. I thought the ones in Paris were more interesting.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Peccato che le catacombe di Parigi non siano un antico cimitero Cristiano, ma più semplicemente un ossario. Una storia molto diversa…
Great experience but very crowded
Sirin_A, Jan 2023
This tour was really neat and was awesome to see the catacombs. My only criticism is how crowded it was, there was maybe 40+ people in our group and we couldn’t all fit in the areas at times or hear what the leader was saying because we were outside the area she was speaking. All the staff were wonderful though and very helpful.
Great tour. a bit outside...
Carlos_A, Jan 2023
Great tour. a bit outside city center, so need to think about transportation, but worth it. Guide was knowledgeable, Site was not crowded and a good experience. The tour was a little less than 1 hour but gave a good feel for the catacombs. Don't expect to have time alone and to roam freely within the catacombs, wouldn't want to get lost...:) but can spend some time outside to view the surroundings, Appian Way, etc.
Discover and walk through ancient history
Marco_L, Jan 2023
Don Mario speaks perfect Italian, but, above all, he’s a talented narrator and profoundly knowledgeable about proto-Christian community and antique Roman history. The visit, above and below the surface, was a delight and very interesting, both for us and for our son. Don Stefano priced a very efficient and very kind and accomodati g organizer (at the last moment we requested to delay by a couple of hours our guided tour: this was no problem at all!). Thanks, Marco
Good but crowded and hard to understand
Kimberly_R, Jan 2023
The content was fascinating, but our English speaking tour was too large. It was hard to hear and our guide spoke way too fast. I attended the 10:00 tour. Try before that as the size of the group is smaller. At least it was on our tour day. It was very organized and on time. Just wished I could have heard and understood all that was going on
Really cool experience
Tyler_D, Dec 2022
Very cool tour. A lot of really interesting information. Our tour guide, Eric, was very funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommended! It can be hard to get to and from. Ubers did not want to drive out to pick us up.
No toilet seats?
Jacques_C, Dec 2022
The tour itself was fascinating, though a bit barren. All ceremonial and burial items were removed for renovation purposes we were told. Tour guide spoke quickly so it was hard to receive all he was saying. Also, whoever thought it was a good idea to not have toilet seats in the only bathroom for several kilometers needs to have a pay cut. Use some of those profits for a cleaning crew if you’re worried about hygienics. The tour guides have private toilets with seats. Seems unreasonable for guests to not have the same humane expectation.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Brilliant tour but slightly misleading because when we googled the picture shows bones and skulls which we didn’t see
Susan_R, Dec 2022
Couldn’t add photos because we wasn’t allowed to take any, good experience though and our guide (can’t remember name sorry) was very informative and witty!! Great day
Pick only 1 tour of catacombs - more than 1 might be pointless
Lavanya_N, Nov 2022
It was a good trip. The tombs are all empty though which is understandable. But knowing that we would only be looking at empty capsules, floors and floors of it, rows and rows of it, made the tour insignificant. I would definitely advise tourists to see at least 1 catacomb but seeking to visit more than 1 might be pointless.
Very good

Very interesting. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. A little tricky to get to, definitely need to take a taxi or Uber, but worth it
Recommend!
Megan_S, Nov 2022
Great tour for a great price! Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and considerate. Highly recommend!!
Awesome excursion
Kimberley_R, Nov 2022
The guide was very good, knowledgeable and also entertaining. The tour was a good length and very informative.
The historical...
Noel_A, Nov 2022
The historical significance of the catacombs is incredible. I’m is a pity that tomb raiders stole so much.
Interesting but not what I was expecting.
Kevin_K, Nov 2022
Tour was fine, staff there were very good ... but the catacombs themselves were a little bit of a letdown. I was expecting some skeletons and bones... but this was not that. It was a good experience and covered a lot of neat facts about early Christendom, though.
Disappointed
Thomas_S, Oct 2022
Paid 25 Euros for 2 tickets on line, on site, price was 10 Euros per ticket. No reservation required Website stated groups of 10. Our group had 37 Guide was heavily accented and hard to understand. Group size and overlapping tour groups in same spaces also made it hard to hear. We were rushed thru. Catacombs are interesting but disappointed in quality of tour
Good short tour
Kelvin_Y, Oct 2022
Went directly to the site on my own and bought advance tickets through Viator. Tickets are available at the site It is a little out of the way but reachable by taxi. The site provides a tour guide in 4 different languages. Tour is only 40 minutes. Very interesting tour.
Moving experience
Mary_T, Oct 2022
To be in the same space that held these brave, Holy Christians was a very very moving experience. My brother who has asthma had some trouble breathing so a warning about the air/mold would have been helpful
Interesting site to visit!
Melissa_M, Oct 2022
The site is very interesting and worth going to visit. Only down fall was the English group was maybe 20+ people so it was hard to hear the tour guide explain things inside the catacombs if you weren’t right next to her.
