What To Expect

A unique and interesting way to go sightseeing in Rome, this ‘Angels and Demons’ tour is inspired by Dan Brown’s novel, but there is no requirement for having it read it or being a fan of Brown’s. It’s a memorable way to explore the city’s lovely squares, fountains, architecture, and churches, made interesting with the twist of visiting lesser-known sites where pagan and Christian symbolism intertwine.

Following your guide, who is knowledgeable about both Roman history and the details of the novel, walk along Rome’s hallowed streets, stopping to discover sights like a hidden passageway that dates back centuries. As you hunt for secrets left around the city by Bernini and Galileo, the two heads of the Illuminati, visit locations mentioned in the book and hear about the Four Altars of Science, which represent the four elements of water, air, fire, and earth.

Sights you’ll see include the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo, St. Peter's Square, the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria and Ecstasy of St. Teresa, Piazza Navona, and the Church of Illumination, where you’ll glimpse the secret passageway that links the Vatican to Castel Sant'Angelo.

Don’t get too excited

In the beginning I was so excited about this tour, unfortunately it didn’t meet my expectations. Basically you have 5-10 minutes in each church for visiting (2 churches) and St Peter square , then free time in St Angelo Castle. Visiting castle was spectacular. Angela our guide was amazing, very educated, driver Omberto was so professional, and we had one free drink as well. I was expecting to see some hidden ways and passages, or underground, we saw only few clues, I might be wrong. Anyway, if you have extra time and money do this tour, sorry

It was an interesting tour, with a very knowledgable guide. Having a bus transporting the group between the sights was an excellent idea. We liked the fact that it was a small group. The only disappointment was the fact that we could not get into the Castel Sant'Angelo. The only other problem was finding our guide at the beginning, as it was not in quite the place we were told, and he was a bit late.

Fun and Unique Way to Explore Rome

I booked this tour because I'm a fan of Dan Brown's thrillers and because of the unique itinerary. Over the course of four hours, we crisscrossed the city and visited a lot of great sites, like St. Peter's Square and the Castel Sant'Angelo. It was one of my favorite experiences in Rome, partly because our guide brought the story to life and had a great sense of humor.

When my wife and I first read Angels and Demons (before the movie) we both thought it was an excellent travelogue. And it serves as a great road map for a real life travel adventure in Rome. You see amazing artwork that most folks overlook, done by the true masters of the Renaissance and Baroque. With a knowledgeable and fun guide.

The tour was wonderful and eye opening. This is based on the book and movie, angels and demons. Would highly recommend reading or watching the movie before going for the tour to get a better understanding. My tour guide Rob was one of THE BEST tour guides I’ve ever had. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with explaining the details and stories behind the tour. 100% recommended! 👍

Roberto, our guide, was fantastic! He was a wonderful storyteller and kept us engaged throughout this excursion. This was the best tour we had while in Rome, filled with history and a retelling of the book, “Angels and Demons” as we traveled the city. One member of our group has read the book, the others have only seen the movie. We could still follow along, but now we all want to read the book as Roberto brought it to life and left some cliffhangers for us. Dan Brown would be proud of Roberto for the way he handled discrepancies between fact and fiction. He also did frequent headcounts and checked on us to see how we were all doing as we progressed through the tour. Antonio, our driver, navigated Rome like the pro he is and delivered us safely to each destination. The bus was one of the nicest and cleanest we have ever been on as well.

The tour was really good def worth reading the book or watching the film beforehand else you will Be totally lost. Angels was very good and made our experience fun and full of facts and fiction. I only saw the film so she very generously explained the difference but the tour was based more on the book which was interesting and now I will go back and def read the book. She also gave us a lot of other facts along the way and made our first day in Rome a lovely experience. Highly recommend this tour which had a bit of drama as well as history.

A fantastic tour! Roberto did a great job telling the story while separating fiction from history. He was very charismatic. The bus and the drink was great. I highly recommend this tour even if you haven’t read the book. It’s like being “in” a real life book.

Amazing! Really fun way to do a tour, a good mix of fun fiction chasing the plotline around and Rob was very knowledgeable providing the historical facts. We couldn't enter the church because they closed without notifying the tour company, but Rob was sure to entertain and educate us. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Very enjoyable experience which follows the book and takes you to the main sites chronicled in it. Even if you haven’t read the book and just saw the movie, they go through the summary so you won’t miss out. Our guide Roberto was a great guide - funny and enthusiastic, and brought the whole tour to life. The refreshment mixed in mid tour was a nice place to catch breath. There is some walking involved so try to wear comfy shoes. Overall excellent.

Rob is a fantastic guide!! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who loved the story. It was a highlight of our trip. Rob’s storytelling was engaging and enjoyable for not only myself but my 21 year old daughter and my 78 year old dad. I was looking forward to our next tour with Rob later in the day which we ended up missing unfortunately because of a mixup on the metro. We are super grateful for the experience.

This was a great way to see Rome and experience what the book or movie portrayed in its adventure. Our guide was new to this tour but told the story with the help of some pictures from his phone and the ones he was given by the tour owner.
