What To Expect

Meet your guide in Campo de Fiori, one of Rome's famous market squares, and meet some of the food vendors at their market stalls. Sample some cheese, cured meat, wine, and seasonal fruit, among other items.

Next, head for the Jewish Ghetto and Theatre of Pompey to see remains of ancient Roman structures as well as Rome's synagogue. Taste some of Rome's best pizza, as well as suppli—a traditional street food made by frying a ball of rice with tomatoes and mozzarella at its center.

Continue to the area known as Torre di Largo Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Visit a nearby family-run gelateria to eat some of the city's best gelato. Hear how gelato is made from the shop's owner.

Choose to take this tour either at lunch or dinner time, as it is an ideal way to do some sightseeing while having a light meal as you make your way through the city.

As people who love to eat, we booked this tour to ensure we were not missing any special foods the city has to offer. It certainly did not disappoint! Our guide was Matteo and he did a great job to mix together learning about the history of the city and the history of the food we were eating. Our tour date was towards the end of August, so it was hot hot hot but I'd 100% want to book this experience again. We started off in Campo de Fiori when the markets were setup which added some bonus tasting experiences. All the foods we tried were amazing and it was a good mix between things we'd expect in Rome and some foods we didn't that were new. If you are looking for a short tour, some food, and a great experience - I highly recommend.
