    The Tour ends at the Pincio Terrace overlooking Piazza del Popolo. From there it is extremely quick and easy to reach Piazza del Popolo as well as the adjacent Metro stop (5 min walk), but it does require descending a long flight of steps.

What To Expect

As you wander through the collection of masterpieces by Italian artists like Caravaggio, Bernini, Canova and Titian, your guide will tell you about the stories, techniques and even some secrets behind the paintings and sculptures.

After your gallery tour, head outside into the Villa Borghese Gardens for a walk around the peaceful park, perched above Rome’s busy Piazza del Popolo. Admire the monuments, fountains and diverse plant life, and end your tour at the Pincian (Pincio) terrace for a view of Rome’s rooftops and plazas spread before you. Galleria Borghese

Cardinal Scipione Borghese commissioned both the Villa Borghese itself and many of the great works still on display in its gallery. Works by Bernini, Caravaggio and Titian remain in their original settings, as envisioned by the Cardinal, a fiercely determined collector. Strictly controlled entry to the Villa and Gallery can make booking difficult and complicated. This package lets you avoid the organizing and even skip the line to get in when you arrive. On this fully-guided tour you’ll hear more about Cardinal Borghese’s quest to complete his collection, and the stories behind the artworks themselves, including Bernini’s ‘Apollo and Daphne’, Canova’s ‘Pauline Bonaparte’, Caravaggio’s ‘St. Jerome’ and Raphael’s ‘The Deposition’. Your guide will be an English-speaker and an expert on the collection, and audio headsets ensure you’ll hear every word they say.

Villa Borghese Gardens

Included in this tour is a visit to the Borghese Gardens: once the Cardinal’s private park, now a favorite spot for locals to relax among sculptures, plants and water features and get away from it all. From the Pincio Terrace you can appreciate another kind of work of art: the vista of Rome itself, from the Piazza del Popolo into the distance.

beautiful place, fantastic (very knowledgeable but very entertaining) guide Fabio. Only downside - the company should communicate with us that all transport will be paralised this day because of Marathon. We realised it too late, we had to literally run. We arrived just in time but it wasnt pleasant start of the day. Little whatsap message day before would help.

Fredrika was a wonderfully informed, intelligent, energetic guide. The Borghesi and Bernini statues are not to be missed when you were in Rome this tour helped bring many important works of art to life, and was in most enjoyable experience.

Museum is impressive- the guide was kind of a sleeper

This museum is amazing and filled with really beautiful pieces of art- everything from the floor to the ceiling is impressive. It is a museum that is a must see in Rome. The gardens are also impressive... but massive and best if seen by renting a golf cart or bike (built for 1-4 people). There is a viewing area that is peaceful and amazing. Our tour guide was very monotone and although knowledgeable- 3 of the for of us walked away to look at the items solo due to the "sleepiness" of the guides voice.

The guide was knowledgeable, and the gallery was amazingly beautiful. The group size was good, not too many, not too small. However, it was disappointing that it did not include the walking tour of Villa Borghese Gardens as described on the tour description.
