Try to catch the morning tour so that you the option to venture on your own in the Vatican .
I can recommend taking a tour, especially as you don’t want to be queuing up for either the museums or the basilik (February is calm, but the queues still looked horrid from afar).
Does get extremely crowded and hot going through the building.

Good experience - sad to not get to se the Basilica of Peter

A afternoon trip that started late due to some trouble in documenting the group members. Some guests were not very helpful and patient. The guide did a good job to try the best and got some bad comments from attendants. She however stood her guidance and did a great job. We missed seeing the Basilica of Peter due to the crowding and late start. That was unfortunate. The tour was very informative.

The tour was well organized and the tour guide was very informative. It was a very long walk through the Vatican museum which was extremely busy, however the tour guide successfully engaged with everyone and explain the history of all major exhibits.

The Sistine Chapel was amazing but it took too long to get there. Our tour guide took a little longer than expected. In fact, we waited an hour to just get inside. I felt like this tour could have been better organized. Things were just too drawn out.

Tour guide was great however due to the rain, her colleagues were late or didn’t show leaving her to try and figure out several groups at the same time. Our tour started almost 30 min late but once inside, it was great. She was very knowledgeable and thorough with everything. Felt a bit rushed with very little time to actually look at some things. Hard to say if it was due to starting later or this was the way the tour was. All in all a good tour, just needed more time.

Too much information given at the start, was a rush to get to the sistine Chapel where once inside we were almost ushered back out. It was too busy, cramped and very warm, it felt almost unsafe. We bought tickets to include the basilica but we were never shown it as the guards shut the door and said we were too late. This was disappointing given we had paid for it.

Dont book this tour- Tour Guide Was A No Show

Find a different tour guide for this trip. The tour guide was not at the listed meeting point and left early. We knew we were cutting it close on time and called ahead to let the operator know at 1415 with a start time of 1430. We called the number provided to give them a notice. We arrived at 1427 and did not see a group of people gathered at the meeting point. We called the tour operator again at 1429 and he said they had left with a group of 68 people and had waited for us. They said a picture was taken of the big group leaving the meeting point and have still not provided the picture after request.

Our tour guide was excellent. Unfortunately, our reservation was changed from the morning to late afternoon. Consequently, we were not able to see everything because some of the sites at the Vatican close at 4:00 p.m. Therefore, we felt robed from the experience.

Informative and overwhelming but also exhausting. The guided tour through the Vatican museums was then followed by a chance to visit St Peter's and avoid the considerable queues. Be prepared to set aside the better part of a day. An excellent guide as well combining extensive knowledge with humour!

Unfortunately our guide struggled with her English( unacceptable for an English tour when u come all the way from the USA to see the Vatican ) We cold not hear her, she did not wait for everybody. It was a terrible experience.
