Great for first day in the city
Josh_S, Jun 2023
Went on this tour with a small group the first day we landed in Rome. Very glad we did! Gave us a nice idea of the different parts of the city and some of the local foods to look for throughout our trip in Italy. It was a nice mix of movement through the city, stopping to explain history of where we were standing, and delicious foods! (wines included). Having gone on this as well as some.of the larger historical tours (coliseum, Vatican), this one gave me the best appreciation for overall roman culture leading to the modern day city.

Mary_K, Jun 2023
Our tour guide Livia was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the food and the neighborhoods. Great way to see 3 different places and eat amazing food. Pizza, Pasta, fried artichoke and gelato. Best tour we have been on so far. The Guide kept us entertained the whole time. Do your self a favor and take this tour.

Great food experience in Italy
Joe_M, Jun 2023
We enjoyed a great experience with our guide Livia she made the the tour very enjoyable she had vast knowledge on the places to eat as well as the local flare that made the tour all the more great. Her ability to tell us stories from the neighborhood that she grew up in and how she spent alot of time with her grandparents was nice. One of the best food tours that we experienced.

A fun food outing
Franklin_R, Jun 2023
Giulia was amazing and friendly. I traveled solo and this was 3 hours after I landed. Was a great way to spend Day 1 to learn about food and I was not intimidated by the group. Met wonderful folks from Australia, Chile, Panama, and a few fellow Americans. The pace was great, we had pizza, gelato, fried food in the Jewish ghetto. Going back to the gelato place and pizza place which also had the most amazing pastries.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thanks a lot Franklin, has been great spending some time with ur lovely group. Come back soon cheers

Knowledgeable, local and friendly guide who taught us just what we needed to know to enjoy our visit to Rome by eating at the best places and for a reasonable price. Would thoroughly recommend taking this tour at the start of your break so you are ready to go!
Go for it!
Maria_S, Jun 2023
Our guide, Natasha, was knowledgeable about the food we were tasting as well as its origins and cultural characteristics. She gave us restaurant recommendations in the various parts of the city we visited. Excellent all around tour.

Good food and information
Bonnie_J, Jun 2023
Very tasty food, but we still good to eat for all but two of the stops. We had walked around Rome all day, and I really wanted to sit down to eat. Did like the guide very much.

Tasty Roman Holiday
charles_m, Jun 2023
Our tour with guide Chiara was wonderful. She was very sweet and knowledgeable about the area and the local food we tasted. The tour brought us to nice areas of Rome and delicious eateries we would never have found on our own. We were also impressed with the variety and portions of tastings. We started with tapas and local Jewish Ghetto appetizers to two different pasta dishes of local Roman flare, then finished with the best gelato ever to be tasted. Loved every minute (and every bite)! Thank you Chiara for a great tour.

Foods of Rome!
Timothy_M, Jun 2023
We had such a good time. There was so much food and it was delish. There could have been mortadella, but that is just me. :) From Pasta to the Jewish Arancini, it was all wonderful. Then of course, to end the evening with gelato was the best. We meet so many fun people on these small tours. We now have new friends in California and South Carolina. Thanks for a great evening. Ciao.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you Timothy, we love your review. The jewish arancini are named supplì and you can find the recipe on our blog. stay connected and come back soon cheers
Tried some new things
Andrew_R, Jun 2023
This tour gave us the chance to try a few foods & restaurants we wouldn’t have tried on our own. The family run deli had fresh bufala mozzarella to try. We couldn’t help but buy extra. The Jewish square gave us the chance to try the fried artichoke and fried rice ball. The gelato was top notch too.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you Andrew, this is an amazing review thanks a lot.
Lisa Was Fabulous!
Carol_M, Jun 2023
Lisa definitely made this walking food tour a phenomenal experience for our small group of 6. We visited 5 different places and truly felt that we had a wonderful overall view (and taste) of everything Italian. I especially liked that we were exposed to small, family run establishments where Lisa was obviously well known and respected by the proprietors. You definitely want to go hungry and IMO will not need dinner after - we had plenty of apertivos, pizza, pasta, wine and gelato. I loved walking through all these sections and getting the history and current take on each of the areas we visited. This food tour was a great value and we loved the time slot (we chose 4:40pm, finished up about 8:45). Lisa was a knowledgeable, friendly and engaging guide, obviously proud of her Roman roots and willing to share tips and answer all questions. Still hope to get some of the recipes we discussed and experienced!
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you Carol, I loved our tour at every step. Thanks again for your nice review. Come back soon cheers
Great Intro to Roman Food
Seena_S, Jun 2023
We took this tour on the first morning of a 10 day visit in Rome. Besides being a great tour, it gave us an introduction to a few neighborhoods, so we accomplished two goals together. Maria was a terrific tour guide. She exudes passion for her city and the great food to enjoy. In addition to the six or so restaurants/shops we visited (and ate in), she explained some of the history, including tumblestones (unknown to me and my husband). We loved visiting the wide variety of places she chose, especially Roscio's for pizza. This was THE best pizza I've eaten. This appears to be a walk-in deli where you order from the counter. They have about 10 or so varieties, piled high with ingredients, in a rectangular shape. You tell them how wide a slice, providing an opportunity to taste several offerings, charging by weight. They have a small restaurant nearby and when we tried to make reservations, there were none available for 6 weeks. We visited a cheese shop, and a gelato store, as well as a restaurant stop for two types of pasta, and fried artichokes. Do NOT eat before you take this tour. You will be sated, with lots of food and many different tastes and information on each of the dishes.

Great food, culture and history tour with Anastasia!
coglianj, Jun 2023
We enjoyed the tour with great food at each stop accompanied by interesting facts and stories. We won’t be cutting our spaghetti (it’s bad luck)! or twirling it on a spoon. And we will look for gelato in covered bins with no more than a dozen flavors to enjoy the best gelato.
Response from Host, Jun 2023
Thank you :) it is amazing to see how different are food habits once in Italy, that's true. Happy you loved the tour
Highly recommended!
Stacie_S, Jun 2023
Tour exceeded expectations. Natasha was very knowledgeable and passionate about Roman cuisine and also provided cultural and historical context to different kinds of food. We are so glad that we took this tour!
