What To Expect

Meet your guide in Rome’s Piazza Campo de' Fiori, and start your food tour of the Trevi district. Historical monuments and upscale eateries fill this buzzing quarter, tucked beside the River Tiber.

Learn about Rome’s history and cuisine, and see landmarks including Pompey Theatre, Marcus Aurelius Column and Piazza Navona. Plus, throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain to ensure your return to Rome, and visit the 2nd-century Roman Pantheon.

On route, enjoy at least seven food stops to sample various specialities. A hub for visitors and many Italian government buildings, the area abounds with restaurants and bars, alongside sophisticated delicatessens, coffee roasters, chocolatiers, salami makers, wine shops, and ice cream parlors.

Tastings vary on each tour, but expect to try delicacies like silky prosciutto, gelato, pizza, cheeses, wines, and more. As you eat, chat to the vendors to learn more about each dish. Come hungry, as the tastings will easily replace lunch.

Roam the food market at Campo de' Fiori, where the stalls sell fresh produce and goodies, and hear your guide’s tips for restaurants and sights in the city.

Your tour concludes in the Trevi district so you can continue exploring on your own.

I enjoyed the food tour with Julia as our guide on 8/24. She took us around and we tasted varieties of Italian meals. The first part of the tour was fun but when we got to Piazza of Navona then I realized my wallet in the backpack was stolen, so that was the most memorable moment I would never forgot. I lost the cash, 1 credit card and some identification… It was the 1st day started out in Rome and will be the last one for me.

Amazing tour. Marco was a great guide. Fantastic foods and lovely sights. You can try typical Roman foods, beer and wines. The lunch is fabulous and the tiramisu and gelato perfecto!

First off, our guide (Georgia, sp?) was completely amazing! She answered any and every question we asked and engaged in meaningful and educational conversations regarding Rome and the surrounding areas. Secondly, the food was wonderful (though not well fit for vegetarians or vegans) with a variety of different foods and drinks from several restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to get a variety of wine and delectable treats, including a full meal at one the locations. For someone who has only a basic understanding of the Italian cuisine this food tour helped show me just some of the delicious food available in Rome.

This four hour tour was perfectly timed with just the right amount of history mixed with the most delectable food. Julia started with the history of our meeting Point then took us to a local meat and cheese shop. We moved through the local market learning about its tragic history and on to a pizza shop. Afterwards more history and I don’t want to spoil the tour but I’ve done many food tours in the states and this by far was my favorite. Our guide Julia was funny and personable making it all the more enjoyable. Don’t hesitate to book.

This tour was great and well worth the cost! Our Instructor was knowledgeable and engaging, the food was terrific and the group size was perfect. Our instructor also did a good job explaining the significance of all of the food. This is a can't miss tour but come hungry because they were not joking when they called the lunch 'rich'.

A beautiful tour that shows you some great sights and will definitely fill your belly. The food is all authentic roman and you will get enough to eat. This is also the only food tour I have taken that gives you a decent amount of alcohol as well. Definitely would do this one again next time I'm in Rome

Very enjoyable experience. Everyone in the group got on well. Our guide for the day was excellent. There was so much food by the time we sat down at the restaurant for the main meal everyone was stuffed. Well worth the money.

This is a wonderful tour with a lot of food and drink tastings. It started with many truffle and olive oil samples, limoncello flavored shots, pizza samplings, espresso's, meats, gelato, and a full lunch with wine. Andrea was an excellent guide. He was kind, engaging, and kept the tour on a good pace. Would recommend!
