This was not a good experience we had a group of 11 for a bachelorette party and we were unable to hear the guide due to lack of a microphone and we were told to shut the f*** up by another guest. Booking took 30 minutes on the phone because I couldn’t add my card . Overall it was not a good experience for the bride.… it was a 90 minute tour and we didn’t move for 40 minutes

Best walking ghost tour in Salem!

This was one of the most enjoyable walking tours I have ever taken. The tour guide was so entertaining, as well as informative. He even had pictures of ghosts! I learned so much about the history of Salem, all the while, laughing so much! Great tour.

Reverend Peter was amazing! Very enthusiastic and passionate, and also super personable and hilarious! Pretty small group so it was a more intimate tour than the others we saw walking around. Took us to so many cool historic locations and told us all about their history. He didn’t sugar coat it, just told us the real stories and told us about some of the sighted paranormal activity in the area as well. Definitely recommend.

Although the information by the guide was interesting, it was disappointing that we never entered any building or property to obtain the full experience of the ghost tour. Have been on many ghost tour across the world and this would be in the lower margin of experiences.

Tour guide bad language

The tour itself was ok but the tour guide constantly used the F-bomb and other curse words. The tour description says we would see the House of Seven Gables and the Proctor Ledge but he 8didn't take us to see them. Very disappointed with this tour

Worst “tour” ever run don’t walk away save your money !! Guide used f bombs they Did not keep non paying people from jumping in so I was so far back could not hear anything. Awful

I enjoyed the tour overall. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and had a great sense of humor. However, I was expecting more, likely due to inconsistencies between the Viator Website and Ghost City Tours website. I bought my ticket off Viator, which advertised Proctor’s Ledge, the Rope’s Mansion (which I’ve been to but don’t know the history/ ghost stories of so was looking forward to), and the House of the Seven Gables. We didn’t visit any of those sites. The Ghost City Tour website advertised the Witch House as a location and it was not a stop on my tour. We stopped at Old Burying Point, the Gardner-Pingree House, the Hawthorne Hotel, St. Peter’s Church, the supposed site of Gile’s Corey’s execution, brand new condos that used to be a jail (interesting jail story at that location but basically a parking lot), the old witch dungeon/ jail location, Turner’s Seafood for ghost stories about Bridget Bishop and a young girl ghost, town hall (no ghost stories here… I like seeing town hall because of Hocus Pocus but it’s not a unique stop), and an inn that used to belong to one of the Corwins. Overall, like I said, I enjoyed the tour. I didn’t feel the stops were unique, but I’ve also been to Salem many times. Maybe this tour is good for someone who’s not from the area.

Overcrowded- would recommend offering smaller group options

The tour was overbooked and over crowded (at least 20 other people, but probably more). It made it difficult to see and hear everything- especially as other tour groups were often stopped and speaking right near by- sometimes with mics (our guide did not use a mic) . We opted to leave about halfway through. I didn’t see a smaller group option when booking but would recommend it be offered. I would’ve happily paid more to have had an experience with just 10-12 people where I could see, hear, and ask questions.
