Time well spent

So deep is Francesco’s knowledge, it risks going unappreciated by those fortunate enough to even find themselves in Salerno, and on his walking tour. Francesco paces his tour, and speaks at a volume, that commands one’s complete attention and concentration. I eagerly listened to his every word during our brief time together. He has spent his life studying history, religion, and other cultures across the world. By taking his tour one reaps the benefits of his decades of dedication. He generously and humbly shares the understanding he possesses, as a result of his quest. He is proud of his region, and it is evident in the way he unhurriedly details its ancient, rich, vibrant, and meaningful history. The Salerno Cathedral was my favorite part of the tour. The chapel full of frescos depicting the gospel of Matthew was a sight to behold. For anyone who knows his or her Bible stories, this is not to be missed. The frescos themselves are beautiful, and to be enjoyed by all. I take many tours in many places, but this one stood out to me, thanks to Francesco. I consider myself truly fortunate to have been on his tour, and will remember it always. Grazie, Francesco!
