What To Expect

Make your own way to the visitor center of San Antonio to board the open-top, double-decker bus, or simply hop on at any of the stops around the city.

The Alamo is perhaps number one of the top attractions that you can visit. Founded by Spanish missionaries in the late 1700s and known then as Mission San Antonio de Valero, the Alamo was the site of a famous battle that marked the end of the Texas Revolution in 1836. Legendary people including Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie and Colonel Travis fought in that bloody battle.

Near the Alamo, you can walk to the San Antonio River Walk, a network of walking paths along the river that are lined with shops, art galleries and great restaurants.

Your bus passes a number of outdoor markets and stops at HemisFair Park, a delightful urban park that is home to the Tower of the Americas, which was constructed for the 1968 World's Fair and stands 750 feet (229 meters) tall. Explore the King William Historic District, wander down St Mary’s Street and more.

If you like, visit the historic Cathedral of San Fernando, built in 1734 by Spanish settlers from the Canary Islands, and the burial site for many soldiers that perished in the Battle of the Alamo.

From the bus, enjoy clear views of the city and recorded commentary that describes the sites you pass. A full list of stops can be found in the Itinerary section below.

Choose either a 1-, 2-, or 4-day ticket and tour the city at your own pace. Tickets include a map of the route and list of sites, plus admission to the Centro de Artes Museum.

Disappointed
Sam_P, Apr 2023
The bus was not running due to the Fiesta festival. See my refund request. Only one day in Sam Antonio. Bust
Better than walking!
BobbyJ_M, Apr 2023
Excellent way to see all what San Antonio has to offer and then hop off and check out what interests you. Drivers had great suggestions for things to do and where to eat
Short trips multiple buses used.
Roselyn_H, Apr 2023
1st bus road on top and sound system was perfect 2nd bus sat inside several rows behind driver, his voice came out muffled from the speakers, let him know and while at stops ok, but once it started again, sound muffled again. 3rd bus was not a double decker , sat 2nd seat back on door side and the entire huge window was like all fogged up snd not able to wipe it away from the inside, bus took off before we noticed. Had to wait a while for next stop to change seats. It was just one window affected. Driver made a joke out of it, but it would have been nice if the seat was yellow taped up so it wouldn’t happen to others.
Great bus experience
Tyna_B, Apr 2023
We loved being able to learn about the history of buildings and things we saw along the way. Some drivers knew prices for activities and times places were open. It was nice being able to hop off and on to experience different locations. BC & George were our favorite driver duo. BC was teaching George the route and they were great. We laughed so much.
Definitely Worth It

Excellent presentation of Texas history and local highlights by the driver(s). Great value. Busses run continuously and with short times between them.
Great way to get around
Jacqueline_B, Apr 2023
We bought the 3 day pass and used it to get to all the attractions we wanted to see. All drivers were very informative also
Disappointing
Pamela_S, Mar 2023
We were very disappointed in our tour. Part of the problem was road construction that prevented the bus from stopping at all of the sites or not being able to drop us off closer to the sites. We took the bus because we have difficulty walking, but we ended up walking a lot. It was very difficult to hear all of the pre-recorded narration. Several stops were unmarked and hard to figure out where to wait and there was no seating to wait.

Great host and good info about Austin-good way to see the city in a short amount of time. Austin is a great place
Terrible terrible terrible tour
Sandra_G, Feb 2023
Waste of money. Your drivers were terrible. The first driver on Monday left the meeting spot at tourist center and drove for at least 15 minutes without saying hello, telling us where we were going or anything about the city. We got off for the Pearl and all of the people just had to figure out where to go. We got on another bus got dropped off at a flee market area, no information provided. The worst was after the flee market we returned to another bus where the bus driver wouldnt put on the air conditioner because it made to much noice. It was 89 degrees and the windows were fogged up from the heat. Terrible terrible terrible tour.

Marcie_G, Dec 2022
We loved the Buckhorn saloon, and museums. We ate lunch there and then did both museums. We were there for about three hours. We went to the Spanish governors palace, and Saint Fernando cathedral. The bus driver.was well-informed and funny and really nice.!
San Antonio from the Big Bus rocks!
Cyndi_H, Nov 2022
Availability of rides! San Antonio provides a myriad of experiences for every type of a visit, from business trips to memorable family or couple trips!
Bus Ride
Tina_S, Sep 2022
Over priced. Very expensive bus ride. Could not hear person doing the tour. I wouldn’t recommend this at all.
Easy way to see the city.
Brenda_J, Aug 2022
The tour took us to all the top sightseeing spots. The buses circle every 20 minutes or so. It was nice to be able hop and and off and spend more times in areas that we were interested in, and skip those we weren’t. We were able to see much more than we could if walking or if trying to plan it ourselves.
The knowledge gained of the history of San Antonio is worth every penny spent on the tour.
Gloria_W, Jun 2022
Captain K was our tour guide and he was amazing. He gave lots of suggestions & was very knowledgeable. My family and I actually went to eat breakfast at one of his suggested locations.

It was a great way to get to several different sites we wanted to see in San Antonio. One guide we had, Angle, was awesome and we learned quite a few interesting facts about the area.
Great tool for any city vacation
Jeff_S, Mar 2022
Great way to start your trip to “gain your bearings” in a new to you city. Great way of transportation during your trip. Always a fun way to receive basic history and other information.
Interesting
Miguelina_S, Mar 2022
The Market Square was the best part of the tour. Many booths and shops to purchase all kind of things Texas.
Nice experience
ThomasF_H, Mar 2022
Busses were pretty much on the schedule they said. Drivers/guides were good. The route was different than on the map, but not really an issue. Liked the flexibility of getting on and off at any time and even going again is necessary.
Hop on Hop off …. A way to see San Antonio
Mithi_G, Mar 2022
Found it disappointing that the Bus driver does not have the capability of checking you in with Electronic ticket. In this day and age to go to Main office to get a paper ticket seems a waste
