What To Expect

Learn about Golden Gate Park and see its major attractions in an easy yet adventurous way. On this San Francisco Segway tour, you’ll cover more ground than you would on foot but still enjoy being outside.

Start by meeting your guide and participating in a 35- to 45-minute practice session to get used to your Segway, which most riders find to be very intuitive. Then set off, gliding through the park with your guide, who will tell you about the history of the park, such as how it went from uninhabited sand dunes in the 1870s to a well-planned city gathering space that’s home to museums, lakes, gardens and more. Spot sights like the Shakespeare Garden, the lawn bowling courts, the Conservatory of Flowers, Stow Lake and two impressive museums—the California Academy of Sciences and the de Young, a fine arts museum.

Cruise past Lily Pond, a pioneer log cabin, a grove of redwood trees and other lesser-known highlights, and make plenty of stops to take photos of this 1,000-acre (405-hectare) sanctuary that spreads from the middle of the city to Ocean Beach. Your tour ends with return to the starting point in the park.

  • All guests must be age 12 or older.
  • All guests must weigh between 100-250 lbs or 45-113 kilos.
  • NOTE: We have a scale on site and check minimum weights for safety of all of our guests. Underweight guests will not be refunded or rescheduled.
  • Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the tour.
  • No pregnant guests are allowed due to safety reasons.
  • This activity is not recommended for some guests that are: ages 70 years and older, have had recent surgeries or have motor skill/control issues.
  • Each customer must sign a Liability Waiver.
  • Helmets and safety vests are provided and are required.
  • All participants must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance
  • No high heels, sandals or flip flops.

Our guide, Zac, was a friendly, relaxed , knowledgeable guide. The park is beautiful & huge. Segways are easy to master and a great way to cover a lot of area in a short time.

First time on segways and we loved it! The trail was fun…especially the ‘off road’ portions. Such a great way to cover a lot of ground and see so much of the sights. Zack was a very cool guide…knowledgeable and passionate about the park. Highly recommend this tour!

Totally fun day in the park. The Segways were fun to ride, and pretty easy to learn. (I'm a klutz, and managed nicely.) Instructions were easy to follow. Radios were a bit hard to hear at points, but I usually brought up the rear so might just have been my place in line. Only suggestion? It will be chilly in the shade, wear more clothes than you think you will need!

I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years but on a surprise day off where I wasn’t sure what to do, I was glad I thought of a Segway tour and one through the gorgeous and glorious golden gate park. The park is vast and full of many different type of landscapes. Going through the park on a Segway also gave it some additional fun and excitement. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone, and Hopefully I can do it again someday. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. 5 stars

This was SOOOOOO much fun! There’s no way we would have seen the many different gardens and historical places without charming Zack’s guidance and comfortable discussion. His knowledge of the park’s hidden gems, beautiful plants and significant places really added to a fantastic Segway ride. The Segway training, help and monitoring for safe use by Zack were all perfectly timed and encouraging. This was my 4th time on a Segway and every time I do it (years and places far apart so I forget each time), I leave thinking: why would I ever walk again if I could Segway?! It’s soooo much fun!

We had a great time! It was our first time riding a Segway and after their very thorough instruction, it was incredibly easy and fun! The tour was nothing short of amazing. Coming from Nevada, where everything is brown, we loved the lush landscape. Our tour guide Zach was fun, kind and very knowledgeable.

Johannes (yoyo) was an excellent tour guide who really made the tour wonderful! We had been on other Segway tours and still learned more about what not to do on a Segway from him. The park is huge and we got to see so many parts that we never would have.
