Amazing experience

Muirwoods itself is an amazing experience, but what made the tour fun was our bus driver Charles. He was very informative full of historical fact and stories that made the drive seem to go by very fast. After we got on the bus and left San Francisco, we stopped on the other side of the Golden Gate bridge for a quick photo opportunity then headed to Muirwoods. It was about an hour drive in total. Then we had 90 to explore Muirwoods. Afterwards, we drove to Sausalito where we opted to take the ferry back. The ferry ride was very pleasant with great views of the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and the city. Highly recommended tour!
Great way to see the forest and wildlife even in the rain.

The redwoods and streams were beautiful! It was a rainy day and the plant life was so vibrant the pictures did not do it justice. The path through the forest was easy to navigate.
Not worth the money or time

The bus was nice enough however the tour bus driver offered no information. Didn't tell us about anything other than a few places to eat or park. No information about the surroundings. He said we could leave our items on the bus because he would be with it at all times while we were in the woods but then we saw him at the gift shop. He didn't seem to have an actual idea of headcount. When we were leaving he thought we had everyone until another passenger told him we were missing one woman. His accent was very thick and not understandable most of the time. When he wasn't talking, which was the majority of the time, he was breathing into the headset. His name was Steve. Unfortunately, we backtracked to the city vs going directly to Muir woods on our own in hopes we would have a guided journey to the woods but we were mistaken.

Our tour guide/van driver was wonderful. I could listen to his soothing voice all day. I enjoyed hearing the information he shared during the drive. I gotta admit, I was nervous on the tops of the mountains on the curvy roads, but I knew our driver was VERY experienced and had been driving this route for decades and that helped calm my anxieties. Muir Woods itself is peaceful, beautiful, and a must see

Just a walk on your own

Basically pay for a ride there and back, no guide at the woods you just walk around on your own for 1.5 hours. If staying in San Fran would suggest uber there for approx $45-50 and then you can spend more time there to see a lot more and then Uber back. May cost an extra $20 or so overall but worth it to spend more time there. That would be the way id do it if I were to do it again
