What To Expect

Let your guide handle the driving and relax as you sip your way through California’s wine country. After leaving the city of San Francisco in the morning, settle into a luxury coach equipped with onboard amenities including reclining seats. Hear tales of Spanish missionaries and Gold Rush fortune seekers from your guide as you cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the rolling green hills and pastures of Sonoma Valley.

Your first stop is Roche Winery. Sip different varietals in the tasting plaza and enjoy a walking tour of the Roche family’s Tipperary vineyards. Your host will lead you through the winery, including a sampling of their latest vintage right from their barrels.

Continue to the world-famous Napa Valley for a tour and tasting at Madonna Estate, a family-run winery that produces organic wines in the acclaimed Carneros winemaking region.

Indulge your appetite with a stop for lunch (own expense) at Sonoma Square Plaza, one of the largest plazas in California, and pick from multiple charming restaurants.

Under the sun in the Valley of the Moon, BR Cohn Winery has been making small lot, vineyard-designated wines since 1984. Nestled between Sonoma Mountain and the Mayacamas Mountain range in scenic Glen Ellen, the winery offers an inviting, relaxed environment for discovering new wine.

Back on the coach, savor the late afternoon sun and your wine-induced glow on the return drive to San Francisco. Enjoy a quick photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge before getting dropped off at Fisherman’s Wharf or Union Square in San Francisco.

San Francisco Bay (Pass By)

San Francisco Bay with its stunning views from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate bridge offer the perfect beginning of your journey with Gray Line San Francisco. ALSO: bring a light jacket with you (I traveled in November).
This is not a kid-friendly tour, and truthfully there is nothing for a child on the tour, so there just be no excuse.

Great trip, relaxing informative and fun

Danny the driver guide was friendly and informative. Of the three winery’s we found the B R Cohn winery the most interesting. Our lunch stop in Sunoma was relaxing and picturesque. Going across the Golden Gate Bridge was iconic and Danny ensured we had a good opportunity for memorable photos.

The ride over was very informative. The Roche winery was the best with great information, lovely people, and great engagement. The second visit to Madonna was ok. The venue inside was crowded and noisy. Some of our tour group were talkative and loud during the presentation which was annoying. The last winery was a beautiful setting, but there was not much info about the wine.

Danny, our driver was the BEST! It was a nice ride over the Golden Gate Bridge and Danny stopped to let us take pictures. The wineries were beautiful and the wine delicious. The only thing si they don’t offer crackers or any type of food complimentary to the wine tasting so I would suggest bringing your own snacks or be willing to pay for a charcuterie board to pair with the wine. Overall great day!

We are so happy we booked this tour! Danny, our driver/tour guide, was amazing from the start. He had so much information to share from start to finish and it was really educational! The wineries themselves were absolutely gorgeous and the wine was delicious. We got lucky and had a nice sunny day so we really got to take in the beautiful scenery that is wine country. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting San Fran!

We were disappointed in the wineries from lack of interaction /information from the host at Cohn winery to the quality of wines. Madonna was the best of the 3. Thomas tried to make it enjoyable but a full bus of 39 made it impossible to hear him while he was driving. It wasn’t value for money would not recommend it.

This tour was the best! The driver/tour guide was excellent! He not only provided historical information on the wineries and wines, but also provide so much history on the city of San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma. He provided many interesting facts and made the tour fun. The wineries were amazing! Roche, Madonna, and Cohn were all very welcoming and provided many samples of all their delicious wines. A stop for lunch in Sonoma was wonderful. Lots of shops , restaurants and wine tasting was available. This is definitely worth the money!
