Traveler Tips

The downtown market is a nice place to buy stuff and also offers a selection of various eateries.
I would recommend to drop this winery from the itinerary as this does not add value to the wine tour.

We had a great time. The wineries were beautiful, the wine delicious, and the tour guide very experienced and entertaining.

Loved the tour! Jeffrey was a great tour guide. Would definitely recommend it and do it again when I’m in California next time.

A lot of Reds...
jessicar0421, Feb 2023
Tour did as promised, however my mom and I weren't thrilled with our guide, the bus (extremely noisy), or the selection of wines. We received 5 or so tastings at all 3 wineries, but only 1-2 were white wines. It was a lot of reds, which the area is known for, but would've been nice to know ahead of time. The wineries themselves were all fine, and lunch in Napa was a good stop.
Response from Host, Feb 2023
We appreciate your review and are sorry that you didn't enjoy the tour as much as had hoped. We try to visit wineries that feature different varietals based on the districts they grow/make wine in. Peter Cellars is known for his award winning Pinot Noirs. Homewood masters blends (red and white) and lesser known grapes. Ru Vango offers a bit of everything, including sparkling, red and white wines. Since these are small-production wineries, they feature a selection that they hope is interesting to their guests. We appreciate your input and will monitor these tastings to ensure there is a good selection for all to enjoy. When you return for a Bay Area visit, let us put together a private wine tour, where we can customize a tour based on your specific preferences!

Stories about winemaking...
Vladimir_B, Nov 2022
Stories about winemaking were the most interesting part of the tour. Wine tasting was ok. The weather was very nice, too
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thanks for taking your time to leave us a positive review. Winemaking styles can vary quite a bit and it is always interesting to us to learn the process----an educational aspect of any good wine tour. Visiting in the Autumn/ post-harvest brings some gorgeous, mild weather in an otherwise hot Mediterranean Climate zone. As for the wines, we hope you found a few favorites. Travel well!
Perfect Honeymoon Day Trip
Allie_P, Nov 2022
Highly recommend this wine tour! My husband and I took decided to take this tour since we only had one full day in San Francisco waiting to fly to Tahiti for our honeymoon… and we’re so glad we did! Definitely worth the money and so much easier than renting a car and trying to figure out which vineyards to go to ourselves. Our tour guide picked us up at our hotel and was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and wines. He even got us a bottle of champagne at the end of the tour as a newlywed gift!
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Hello Allie. We are thankful for your kind review. Thanks for taking the time, especially with your very busy Honeymoon travel schedule! Glad you enjoyed your day in Napa/Sonoma!
Boutique winery experience in Napa and Sonoma
Shuwen_F, Nov 2022
Had a great time. The group was fun! Wish our driver had more energy. Wish there was more wine knowledge shared in each winery.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Hello Shuwen. Thanks for the good review. We always hope that our visited wineries teach everyone a little about the process, but they are always open to questions, if you ask them. Hope to see you in wine country again!
Learn more than you already know.
Deborah_L, Nov 2022
This was a very enjoyable trip. We had plenty of time at each vineyard and learned some things we didn't know about wine. Jeffrey was engaging, personable and funny. He was not a stick in the mud. Lol.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thanks for taking the time to write a review, Deborah! Glad that the tour was paced comfortably for you and that you learned some new things----exactly what we hope for. As for Jeffrey, your guide, we are pleased that he assisted in making things special for your special day in wine country. Bon voyage!
Exciting
Annette_M, Nov 2022
Robin was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and shared a lot of history. Vineyards were great and personal
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thanks Annette. Always great to hear positive reviews as this tour is our company favorite. Visiting small wineries is what we do. We appreciate the intimate setting and our guests are never far removed from the process, as our guests are often tasting with the winemaker or a member of the family. Of course, having Robin as your guide makes it a complete day----he loves CA, wine country and our guests!
Good wineries, poor tour guide
Jessica_S, Oct 2022
The Napa/Sonoma your was decent. I was very disappointed in our guide Casey. She was not enthusiastic nor entertaining. I don’t even think she said good morning when she picked us up. At one point she asked if we could hear her on the mic (she thought it was cutting out). My husband told her when we got off the bus that the noise of the A/C made it difficult to hear but she didn’t change anything when we returned to proceed to our next stop. The wineries were nice though the Peter’s cellars was probably my least favorite. Very homey, not like a typical winery. However, all of the wines we tasted were great and it was a nice way to get a “taste” of Napa in the short time we had in San Francisco.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
Hi Jessica! We are truly sorry that this tour didn't satisfy you and your husband. As for Casey, she was having some technical issues with a headset (which has since been replaced) which apparently caused enough stress for her to not being the rosiest host for you. For that, we apologize. We pride ourselves in having some of the Bay Area's finest expert wine guides, so we feel bad that you didn't enjoy that experience. As for the wineries, we sincerely hope that you enjoyed the tastings and noted the variety between the three locations on your tour. Peter Cellars makes amazing reds, but is a one-man show and is in the middle of harvest/fermentation/bottling, so he may have been distracted during your visit. In the end, we are happy that you seemed to enjoy the totality of your day and hope to hear from you again!
Meeting the people in our...
Jill_B, Oct 2022
Meeting the people in our tour group. Homewood Winery was especially great in terms of the personality and knowledge of the gentleman doing the tasting at this winery.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
Thanks Jill! What we love (as fellow travelers) are small groups that foster an environment of connection. This is why we only operate small tour vehicles and visit smaller, boutique wineries without large crowds. Homewood Winery is certainly one of our favorite spots to bring groups. They are sustainable, friendly, and make wines that are a pure expression of place. Glad you had a great day with us!
Happy customer

Guide Joe was great. Played music that added to experience. Like “I left my heart in San Francisco” while crossing Golden Gate Bridge. Fun day. 3 wineries and a food court.

The Perfect Blend was the perfect experience.
Christina_B, Oct 2022
Have wanted to take this trip/tour for a very long time and a friend and I were able to do so last week. Our tour leader, Jim, was very informative and added to our experience by driving us around town a bit, pointing out areas of interest. This was great for us because we had just arrived, and it helped us plan the rest of our stay. The wineries were great. The tastings were educational and delicious. The experience of sitting on the porch at our final Napa winery and looking out into the vineyards while completing our tasting, was an absolutely stunning moment I will never forget. Thank you! The Perfect Blend, was the perfect experience!
Response from Host, Oct 2022
thank you SO much for the wonderful review! we are so happy that you enjoyed the experience as much as you did. see you next time!
Wonderful Experience - Just what I was looking for!
Nancy_P, Oct 2022
The actual vendor was Green Dream Tours. Had a wonderful time. Provided the exact experience I was hoping for. And I can't say enough good about the communication from Green Dream regarding pick up at hotel, etc. Would definitely recommend this tour and would book with them again!!!
Response from Host, Oct 2022
thanks so much Nancy! we are so happy that you had a great experience!
Great tour
preston_L, Oct 2022
The wine tour was great. Jeffrey was wonderful tour guide and drive. We were able to enjoy the wine tastings and not feel rushed. We were allowed ample time to have lunch and shop if desired.
Response from Host, Oct 2022
We appreciate your review, Preston. We do try to strike a balance between filling the day with great winery tastings and a little down time in historic Napa. Cheers!
