What To Expect

Your private tour will begin at Fisherman’s Wharf. Before taking off to explore, your guide will provide a 40-minute training session to ensure that you feel confident hitting the streets on your Segway.

Then, you’re off! You’ll cover much more territory than on a walking tour, and there will be plenty of chances to stop for questions and photos as you go. The pace and itinerary of your tour can be always be adjusted by your guide to accommodate the skills and interests of your group.

Please note that a minimum of two people per booking is required.

Electric Tour Company Segway Tours

Riding a Segway is intuitive, like bike-riding, but it takes a moment to learn how to operate it. You'll have 35-45 minutes of Segway training before beginning your tour, so that you become comfortable. You will practice until your group feels familiar with the Segway, then be ready to tour San Francisco! Once you’re rolling, you’ll follow your guide along the streets of San Francisco on a 3-hour tour, with the ability to cover more distance than on a typical walking tour and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and questions along the way. You’ll have more time than on the regular public tour, and your guide will be able to adjust the itinerary and pace to your group’s interests and skills.

SEGWAY RIDER REQUIREMENTS:
All guests must be age 12 or older.
All guests must weigh between 100-250 lbs or 45-113 kilos.
NOTE: We have a scale on site and check minimum weights for safety of all of our guests. Underweight guests will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the tour.
No pregnant guests are allowed due to safety reasons.
This activity is not recommended for some guests that are: ages 70 years and older, have had recent surgeries or have motor skill/control issues.
Each customer must sign a Liability Waiver.

Helmets and safety vests are provided and are required.
All participants must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Viator has our tour labeled incorrectly. We did the Private Golden Gate Park Tour Our tour guide, Kyle aka Captain, was awesome! We did a tour for our family of 5 ages 13-45 and had a blast! Only one was experienced with Segways but everyone caught on quickly as Captain was very patient with us. Golden Gate Park was gorgeous!!! We learned a great deal and really enjoyed how beautiful the park was. Captain took immense pride in showing off his home. Our boys have asked to do another Segway tour wherever we journey next.

We felt silly booking a Segway tour because... you know... it's a Segway Tour. How touristy can you be? Truth be told, it was the most fun we had in our entire week in the Bay and would ABSOLUTELY do it again. My boyfriend and I opted for the private night tour and it was well worth the extra money to go VIP. You can really create the experience you want with your guide and go at your own pace. We had a guide named KYLE who felt more like a friend than a guide by the end of the night. He was bursting with energy from the moment we walked up to the garage and kept that pace the entire time. He gave us a rundown of what to expect during the tour and then we got into our training. Kyle was patient, thorough, supportive and informative. He also made sure to get to know us a bit so we could have the PERFECT tour. Once we got on the road, Kyle shared history of the city and fun facts with a real sense of humor... Not the hyuk-hyuk jokes you expect from any old tour guide. Knowing we were sports fans, he even made sure to show us places relating to Joe DiMaggio. He led us to the World Famous Slice House in Little Italy where we had delicious pizza. We also braved Russian Hill and Lombard Street once we felt very comfortable on the Segways. Kyle took us all the way up to the top of Telegraph Hill where Coit Tower is located. Beautiful views of the whole city at night. So beautiful in fact that my boyfriend proposed up there. Kyle took pictures for us and suggested we go celebrate with egg rolls in Chinatown! Just like his pizza recommendation, his egg roll suggestion was perfect. We were having so much fun that we could have gone for 2 more hours. I can't stress enough how much an awesome guide like Kyle made this trip for us.
