There was quite a bit of...
Marcia_W, Jul 2022
There was quite a bit of confusion as to meeting/starting place. Several people there said they had the same problem.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
We apologize for the bumpy start. The San Francisco Marathon was running the morning of your tour and street closures caused us to re-route pickups. Anyway, glad you enjoy the city tour!
Not what I expected.
Gary_W, Jun 2022
This tour was good. I’m not sure why I was disappointed. Maybe I thought there was more to San Francisco than there is. I think that the things I was interested in were rushed and the majority of the tour was pretty mundane.
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Sorry to hear we fell short of your expectations. For readers, this is a comprehensive tour where you see all parts of the city, including Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio, Land's End, Golden Gate Park, Haight Ashbury, Chinatown and other attractions. It makes 4 stops for photos and exploring. If you are looking for something more in depth, we suggest our walking tours in the Mission, North Beach and Chinatown. All the best.
Never picked us up after calling customer service

Never got picked up at Union Square. Was told by customer service would be picked up at that location

We apologize for the rare mix up between Viator and Extranomical. We are glad we got to talk by phone and sort this out to your satisfaction. Hope you will give us another try!
More Training Needed
Patricia_B, Jul 2021
We had a tour guide who appeared to just be getting started (there was a second person with her who appeared to be a part of the training process). Shortly into the tour, the first guide asked the trainer to take over, which she did for the remainder of the morning. My low rating is more a reflection of my disappointment in the tour company rather than the guides themselves. They seemed to be doing the best they could with a challenging situation. The guide-in-training obviously needed more time to learn how to drive a bus of this size(constant tapping on the accelerator made for a very jerky ride) and to commit the tour path to memory. I have nothing but respect for the difficulty of a job like this....managing a bus full of people, San Francisco traffic, and streets, all while keeping up a steady stream of interesting information must be TOUGH! The tour company should make sure that their drivers/guides have all of the training they need before sending them out.
Response from Host, Jul 2021
Thanks for your feedback, it is very important to us. Part of our 8-week training program involves having a training manager coaching a new driver/guide. Bonita has twelve years of safe bus driving experience and is learning the "guiding" skills. Rest assured that she will continue to have supervision until she has mastered the full tour guide skill set to our satisfaction. If you would like to talk about this further, call me at (858) 245-5442.

I was informed that the tour I booked for $79/person is for small group using mini-van of 7-8 people. I was shocked to see it's a small bus and we are 36! The bus AC was not working well so it was so uncomfortable. The driver/tour guide is very nice.
too few stops with too little time
gaiyan z, Dec 2019
There are only three stops, and each stop is only 20 minutes. The total tour hour is only three hours. The guide could have given more time to each stop or have more stops.
Response from Host, Dec 2019
Thanks for your commentary about our City tour. At the moment we make 4 stops -- at the Palace of Fine Arts, the Golden Gate Bridge, Land's End (Sutro Baths/Cliff House) and Golden Gate Park-- on our 4-hour tour. We will look at the possibility of adding an additional stop in the future. Thanks, again.
