On this small-group food tour, discover how these immigrants and others have shaped the neighborhood by tasting local specialties including Mission-style burritos, Italian sandwiches, San Francisco clam chowder, and, best of all, a “secret” dish. What To Expect

Make your way to the Mission Cultural Center to meet your guide and your small group of 12 people or fewer.

Begin your walking tour with a San Francisco classic: the Mission burrito. Crammed full and masterfully rolled, the Mission-style burrito inspires debates as fiercely as it does appetites. Hear the legends behind the beans as you chow down.

The other stops on your tour may include a famous bakeshop, Italian deli, traditional clam chowder shop, local ice cream shop, and a mystery spot. Skip the line and the wait for each dish, and learn about the Mission’s rich cultural and architectural heritage as you walk around between bites.

Complete your culinary walking tour of the Mission in early afternoon.

Very worthwhile

The food was good but the best part was what we learned about the area. We loved the mural and he knew about the houses and also about the origins of the food. It was all local food . I’m
Very well worth it, a great day spent in mission district and great food

Mark was our wonderful guide for the tour, he had a world of knowledge he enthusiastically shared with us throughout the entire tour. This tour would not be the same without Mark! Food was incredible and was a great day to spend our day in the mission district learning about the paintings in the area. I 10/10 recommend
Amazing!
Brent_S, Dec 2022
Mark was amazing. He was so knowledgeable of the Mission, had an amazing palette for tasty and historical food, and had a great relationship with the restaurant owners and chefs. It was the one redeeming part of a not great San Francisco trip.
Best part of our SF stay!
Kimberly_J, Dec 2022
My boyfriend and I wound up in San Francisco due to a last minute flight cancellation. Our Europe trip was cancelled due to weather and we decided to enjoy SF. So glad we chose this tour!! Mark, our guide, was very interesting and knowledgeable about the area and the cultural foods. Our walking tour started out in a very busy area of the Mission District. We enjoyed amazing burritos in this area. We walked around and enjoyed seeing many beautiful pieces of street art and more wonderful food. Mark was full of stories and made the trip so enjoyable.
Opened our eyes

When we first arrived in the Mission district, we were struck by the depravation. But we visited back streets and alleys, and learned to appreciate the culture here. We ended with a deeper understanding and respect for the people who live here.
