Traveler Tips

Recommend you bring a towel and swim suit, as the swim in the stream was a little cool, but enjoyable.
The national park is certainly worth it and if someone is looking for a small outing without wasting your whole day or being super exhausted then this is the tour for you.
The waterfall is close to the road, but the more adventurous can climb the rocks for a closer look.

Relaxed, fun trip to El Yunque
Marina_K, Mar 2023
We opted for this tour instead of the alternatives marketed as more physically challenging, adventure-themed - and it worked out great! Our guide Isaac was fun and informative, hotel pick-up was convenient, van was comfortable and driving behavior felt safe. View point stops were beautiful, river swim was divine - I would’ve liked to stay at the river a tad longer, but other group members seemed ready to leave and it’s possible we needed to leave to keep on schedule anyway. I liked that the lunch stop was at a more authentic, roadside mom-and-pop-shop that the guide always stops at so they know him and he helps serve the food to speed up the process - that felt like a cool unique cultural moment that we don’t tend to get on mainland US. Overall, this was a great trip to see the jungle and get outside of the city!
Learn is fun

Louie knows a lot about the island. He's informative and funny. We were impressed with his imagination, in finding "animals" in the rocks and hills.
Amazing Trip!

isaac was great at informing our group about the history of Puerto Rico and the rainforest. Beautiful day with beautiful views and great food at the end!
Great Trip to El Yunque Tropical Rain Forest
Susan_C, Mar 2023
Louie was a great tour guide - very personable, very knowledgeable, very friendly and informative. The tour bus was very comfortable. The tour was exactly what I expected - the highlights of the refreshing swim in the river, going to the top of the tower for great views, and interesting view of the Coca Waterfall, trying to see animal faces in the rocks. And the local restaurant where we had lunch was delicious! Would recommend this excursion!
Into the wild

The guide made the experience giving info and insights into the rainforest. Beautiful scenery and a chance for a swim in a natural setting. Hiking was not strenuous and got us to great views
Fun, beautiful, easy!

Perfect if you (like me) want to see the rainforest, go on a little hike, and go swimming - but don’t feel the need to cliff jump, do hard/hat-required climbing, or get completely covered in mud. :-) Our guide (Isaac) and the driver (forgot his name!) made the trip super fun. Went out of their way to accommodate everyone. Great views, beautiful swim spot, so relaxing. Weather happened to be clear so we could see all the way to St John. Lunch at the fruit market with PR food was delicious. The van was comfortable, and my hotel pickup was right on time. Definitely recommend! Thanks guys!
Perfect Half Day trip to El Yunque Tropical Rainforest

Perfect half day trip out to El Yunque Rainforest. Amazing views of the waterfall, swimming hole, jungle walk, tower views and friendly guides made the trip fun. Stopped for a delicious local lunch on the way home. Pickup and dropoff at hotel made it super easy. Thank You to our guides Isaac and Fernando!

Book this tour! Our guide, Raphael, was knowledgeable and well spoken. The van was nice and air conditioned. The stops were the perfect length, we never felt rushed. We ended with a stop at a local food stand.
Great for kids!
Cara_H, Mar 2023
We took this tour with 3 kids who are experienced hikers, aged 9,5 and 3. All participated enthusiastically without challenge. They were thrilled to be able to swim in a river in the rainforest! Luis (our guide) included them thoughtfully - it was a great balance of adventure and education for our crew. We thought Luis was the best!
Beautiful rainforest trip

Louis was the best tour guide and really elevated our experience! When coming to Puerto Rico this excursion is not to be missed! The van was new, the a/c worked great, beginning to end was timely and professional.

So beautiful. Great views, good swimming, and great food. Learned alot about Puerto Rico. Highly recommend this tour.
Worth the trip!
Kevin_M, Feb 2023
Good trip, our tour guide Louis (sp?) was excellent! We were able to hike in the rain forest, get some great fuse off the tower at the top of the hill and sample some good local cuisine. Overall, it’s an efficient way to experience the rain forest and learn some of the history. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, couples, kids and families.
The hike was excellent...
Andrew_F, Feb 2023
The hike was excellent and we had great views from the National Forest tower. Our guide was outstanding, informative and entertaining.
So glad we went!
Mike_R, Feb 2023
We couldn’t have asked for a better guide with Luis; outstanding job my friend. We were unsure of the full day trip so we opted for the shorter one and now that we know next time will be the full trip. From the river, to the views from the tower, to the waterfall it was all a great experience.
Driver was great but over half of the rain forest main road was closed
norriscathy1, Feb 2023
Driver was very good but only made two stops in rain forest; rest of main road was closed. The only animals we saw were a pack of 10 "homeless" dags running up and down the road. Not even close to the wonderful animal laden rain forest in Costa Rico.
Response from Host, Feb 2023
Thanks for taking the time to review us! Costa Rica is part of the Panama Microplate which allows animal migration to the country, Puerto Rico is an island that’s built on the Atlantic plate from underground volcanic action 150 million years ago approximately, never being attached to any continents so there was not migration of animals, our largest native mammals are bats which measure about 1 foot long with their wing spread. Dogs, cows, horse, etc.. where brought by the human being and not found in the forest cause of elevation, temperature or amount of rain. Hope to see you in the near future! Thanks again
Great tour guide!
Lindsay_L, Feb 2023
