    Small group tour with attentive,fun guides. There were 9 people total on our tour and 2 guides so we received personalized attention and assistance throughout our hike.This would be a great excursion for families (with older kids). Interacted with several guides from other tours( some had groups of over 20 people!!like really?) and lets just say Zero comparison to Jean and Reiner.If you want a tour that is going to literally treat and take care of you like family ..book this tour..i have zero regrets and would have gladly paid more.

    Jean and Reiner were both amazing tour guides!! I had some concerns about the trip since I had a younger child with us (he's 7), but it worked out great and he was able to do both the rainforest hike and enjoy the waterfall :) Thanks so much for showing us a great time - we can't wait to go back!

    Such a Fun Trip! 100% worth every penny! Jean did an amazing job from start to end! He was funny and personable with our group! He was also always on top of taking photos and videos for us! He offers to pick you up from your hotel , gives an amazing tour to see exclusive parts not other tour guides will take you to (keeps the group super small) , then takes the group to a lunch spot after to enjoy authentic Puerto Rican food , and drops you off back at the hotel!

    Look no further I’ve done all the research for you! I picked this tour based on reading ALL the other yunque tour reviews. I traveled alone with my 7&8 year old son and daughter and was looking for a safe excursion for them to do. This was perfect. From start to finish Jean was an excellent communicator. He messaged me the night before letting me know his pick up time and what to bring. Towel/dry clothes/ comfortable walking shoes … In the morning he let you know his arrival time (7:15) and we stopped for a quick breakfast on the way (delicious huge empanadas and I got a coffee - they have fresh squeezed fruit drinks too). He bought a few fruits for us to enjoy at the waterfall (papaya, mango, bananas). The drive was about an hour; the hike to river area where they have the Tarzan jump and waterslide was about a 20 mins). We did the waterslide first then a cliff jump (you have the option to pick from small, medium or large) my kids did the small cliff jump but they def could’ve done the medium one (they want to come back for this one); next we swam a little then we did the tarzan rope swing. Jean was so patient and helped me with my very active 7 year old. I was nervous bc again I was alone with 2 children but Jean really took on an uncle type role and made this tour safe and fun. My kids wore water shoes and I had on sneakers - do not wear flip flops or crocs (it’s very slippery and you will fall) . He painted our faces with a clay rock which was cool for pictures. There is a changing room for you to change out of your wet clothes and a bathroom to use before you leave the rainforest. On the way back we stopped for lunch at the same place we had for breakfast. I forgot the name of it but the locals call it “grandmas place”. You get a big lunch plate for $10 and the drinks are $4 for the fresh squeezed drinks. To make this review super detailed the lunch options are baked chicken, beef stew, fish, monfongo, rice, beans, maduros and I that is all I remember- we had a vegetarian in our group she ate the rice and beans and it had a few potatoes in it. They also have smoothies and regular drinks as well. They accept credit card or cash. We were back to our hotel by 12. This trip was the perfect amount of time if you are traveling with children or if you do not want to do a whole day trip. Leaving early is a bonus bc getting to the rainforest early allows you to no have to wait in line and avoids large large crowds from other tour groups. As we were ready to leave about 4 other tour groups arrived and looked frustrated with how crowded it was. In our group we had 7 people including myself and Jean. Having a smaller group in my opinion you get a better experience. Jean is also extremely knowledgeable and as you are hiking he teaches you different facts about the rainforest. Tips are not required but bring cash to tip your your guide - it’s an unforgettable experience you will have for your children and yourself…. Jean thank you thank you thank you! Without your patience, caring and fun personality this experience for my kids wouldn’t have been the same !!! I def recommend booking with him!

Getting there early with them was key so that our kids could have a blast in the water before a ton of other tours showed up. Restaurant stop and their help with ordering was amazing.     This is a must every time type visit! Insist on “Tours To Do PR” with Jean. He is the best tour guide and makes the day amazing. Early arrival gets you VIP access to the trail without the wait when you book with Jean. From his knowledge base, safety, photo ops, and all the beauty the rainforest offers, you will not be disappointed. Cliff jumps, Tarzan swing, rock slides, swimming in the forest, it’s all just spectacular. Jean goes the extra mile by offering included transportation, and a fresh fruit snack on the trail. After the tour you’re off to a self pay lunch stop in fabulous Laquillo. While there you will have access to the most amazing Puerto Rican cuisine and beautiful beach views! Jean is so responsive and will make it so simple for you! Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy cuz you will need to embrace the mud to stay safe! We wore well treaded water shoes that worked great for climbing rocks. I would not wear your brand new athletic shoes unless you don’t mind them being fully muddy! I have done this tour twice and for me, lined running shorts and workout tank worked better for all the climbing than a bathing suit. Keep in mind you are climbing a lot and people are below you or behind you so be self aware of you “rear view”coverage! Don’t wear your Apple Watch as mine came off when jumping in the water from the pressure of the plunge. I would recommend no jewelry as well. Bring a change of clothes, towel, sunscreen. You can lock personal items in the van while on the trail. No worries on pictures as Jean will take a ton and send to you for no extra cost! Simply the best value!

    Jean was absolutely amazing! We had the BEST adventure! It was a small group of just four us which gave us an even better experience!! From the transportation to taking us to a local eatery, with authentic Puerto Rican food. Which was SO GOOD!! Our hike thru the forest and the water slides to the cliff jumping, all super fun!! I felt safe and in good hands with Jean! You can not go wrong with this tour!! It’s a MUST DO!!!

    THIS is the way to do it! There are a bunch of tour options, but this one is the way to go! Jean and Jesse are AMAZING! And, I know we had a better experience than everyone else! Others were part of huge groups, skipped certain parts of the adventure, etc. I wouldn’t book any other way! These guys took great care of us - we had a small group experience, felt like they cared so much for our safety while making it so fun! I think other groups were very envious! Don’t book any other way!

    We highly recommend this tour, if you are looking to explore the El Yunque Rainforest! Jean and Ranier with Tours to do PR were lovely guides. They were both professional, kind, and knowledgeable about the rainforest & other questions we asked about PR. We originally booked this tour as a group tour, but since they were overbooked we lucked out and received a private tour with Ranier. He picked us up directly from our hotel & safely transported us to the rainforest. He held our belongings so they wouldn’t get wet, took pictures for us, and even took us to one of his favorite local spots on Luquillo beach for lunch after the tour. A few things to note: wear proper water shoes or sandals that can get wet. There is a lot of hiking and climbing involved on the tour through puddles or water. Bring a waterproof pack that seals tightly to hold personal belongings. I recommend booking an early morning/half day tour since it gets crowded as the day goes on. We saw multiple tourists of all ages & ability on the tour so I can say with confidence it’s good for everyone!

    This is the best rainforest tour! Jean and Jesse were fantastic guides, picking us up early to miss the crowds. They taught us about the local plants and took us on quite an adventure through the muddy trails, over the rocks, and down the water slides. Sneakers or water shoes are a must, and be prepared to get wet. So much fun! Then we stopped by a local restaurant at a beautiful beach for authentic Puerto Rican food. Great small group trip, friendly and helpful guides. Don’t miss it!

    What a fantastic experience! 5+ stars. Huge kudos to our guide/company owner Jean for making it so memorable. From the moment he picked us up in his super clean van to our drop off, everything was top notch. And one of the perks of working with a small business (vs one of the large tour operators) is we got to go with a small group. Ours was 4 people but Jean said he limits it to no more than 8 so you get a better experience. Jean is super knowledgeable about the rainforest area as well as the rest of the island (he gave us some great tips on things to do all around the island). Loved hearing about our surroundings as we hiked, climbed, swam, slid, and jumped into the amazing natural pools. Be prepared for an adventure. You will get muddy but as Jean says, "embrace it". And don't worry the first layer or mud will get washed off as slide down the natural waterslides or take a leap off the rocks into deep beautiful pools of water. The rest will be washed off before you get back in the van to head for lunch. Thanks again for a great trip Jean.
