Avoid the crowds with Rafael and enjoy the beauty!

Our guide Rafael was fantastic - really knowledgeable and kind. This part of El Yunque is insanely crowded, but he was able to take us on a route where we felt like we were really alone for most of it. It required a lot of climbing over rocks and walking through the river, so you need a certain level of fitness. Great experience, one of the best guides we’ve ever had while traveling.

Private Hidden Waterfall

Our guide, Rapheal, was great. He was friendly and informative and did his best to ensure that we had a great time! My only complaint is that after the 4 of us spent $450/couple for a private tour that we would have been taken to an area that was also more private! We had to be around 100’s of young adults playing rap music etc which wasn’t enjoyable. We did get to go ahead of the masses to jump off the rocks into the water, and had a fruit snack but the crowds at this waterfall were ridiculous!

Dear Cindy, We are saddened to have received only 3 stars after proving you a great tour. As it was explained to you, we prefer taking our guests to the river earlier to avoid the larger crowds of tourists or even locals. However, by your request we started the tour a bit later in the morning. It was also explained to you that by what we offer in our private tours is the ability of you having a dedicated guide for your group only, instead of being part of a group of 14+ people. As far as the crowds at the river we have no control over that, however, like mentioned above we can control departure time, safety of our guests and the quality of service we provide. We hope those things in consideration in book with us again in the future!

This tour was amazing! Rafael was our tour guide, and he created such a safe and fun adventure for the five people in my group. Be ready to jump out of your comfort zone on the natural water slides and especially the cliff jumping spots. This tour is a hidden gem that is completely worth the money. I say, without any hesitation, book it now!

At first I was bummed because I procrastinated and didn’t book any tours ahead of time. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise! I’m SO happy that all the group tours were booked or I don’t think we would have paid for the private tour. It ended up being an incredible experience. Tour guide Francisco was knowledgeable and just super chill. He is an earthy dude, very passionate and protective of the forest and nature in general. Love him!! Having a small group allowed us to maneuver past the slower, larger groups, and go at our own pace. Tour guide took all our photos so we didn’t even need to use our phones. Water slides, cliff jumps, rope swings, waterfalls, beautiful scenery... it’s the perfect adventure. I don’t think I’ll ever book a group tour after this experience. 100% recommend!!!

Had a great time with our guide Rafael. Very knowledgeable and engaging all day. He suggested an earlier start to beat the crowds and we’re glad we agreed. The spot was beautiful and definitely muddy. The hike was challenging in a couple of places but we all made it fine. If afraid of mud or sweat then maybe not the trip for you but we lived it. Great memories made. Would highly recommend. And the lunch at the end was also very delicious!
