Traveler Tips

I highly recommend wearing water shoes as your sneakers will be fully submerged in water and get muddy.
you don’t hike as much as some other trips but you get picked up and dropped off which are huge bonuses considering taxi and Uber aren’t technically allowed there.
The hike can be a little intense and slippery but it was worth it.

My favorite experience while visiting Puerto Rico!
Alissa_B, Mar 2023
My friends and I had an amazing time on this tour! Justice and Richard were very friendly and knowledgeable. I really appreciated how much Justice respected the history of the land and the people who resided there before colonization. The hike itself was beautiful, and getting to experience the natural springs, jumping off rocks, the waterslide, etc. was definitely THE highlight of my entire Puerto Rico trip.
Great Adventure!

Hiking on the slippery rocks is a challenge for me but I still had great time there because our guides Eliu and Rozarios are very helpful and informational. They took lots of videos and pictures for us. Definitely recommend!
Rain forest excursion

My sister and I spent a week in Puerto Rico and this was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The weather was beautiful and the hike was slippery, muddy, and so fun. We had a small group which was perfect because you got to know everybody and didn't get lost at all. The hike itself was super easy, besides the mud, and the majority of the trip was spent at the waterfalls. We got to cliff jump, rope swing, and slide down the rocks in a natural rock slide. Our guides were amazing and so informational. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
Amazing hike and even better tour guides

Great guides! Great adventure!

Amazing adventure! My tips/comments for those who look at reviews: hiking distance is not the challenge- hiking up steep slippery rocks is the challenge! You can choose to stay back through the truly challenging part. The guides do an amazing job of coaching and helping, but I suggest this hike only for those who are sure footed. Also, wear shoes with really good traction that you don’t care if they get wet and really dirty -because they will. The guides wear Keen (or similar style)sandals with socks. We wore water shoes with traction and they did work ok.
DO NOT BOOK!!
Sophie_L, Mar 2023
We booked this tour and it is advertised as 6 hours. It ended up being 3.5 hours round trip including transportation. In addition, the entry to El Yunque is only $2 / CAR, not per PERSON. The fact that they charged us $2 / person to get into the rain forest, then couldn't make change is a major scam. We only had a $20 bill, and we should have only paid $12 but they refused to also make change. Overall I requested a refund, and was only given 20% back when I should have gotten at least 50% due to the shortened tour. I understand the water was too dangerous to do the waterslide, but the hike could have been longer or we could have stayed at the cliff jumping longer. It was totally a scam.
Waste of time

It was annoying to having to listen to loud latino music for an hour during the transportation from the port to rainforest. The guide could have educated us about Puerto Rico a little. It was time wasted. Additional $2 per person fee to enter the private parking was also inappropriate. They should have added to initial fee and not make us worry about collecting that cash at the last minute. Otherwise, guides were polite and attentive. Place is beautiful but not worth wasting all day.
A Puerto Rico Must-Have Experience
Jayme_J, Mar 2023
Our guides, Eliu and Richard were absolutely amazing! The hike was definitely slightly challenging with the muddy parts, but overall fine. The natural water slide, rope swing, and cliffs were out of this world. The guides take videos and pictures for you which was great. YOU NEED TO GO!
Small group and tons of fun
Sara_M, Mar 2023
Did this trip with my 10 year old daughter and our guide was Paul. Had an amazing time. Communication was easy before the trip to confirm pick up details. Our group was nice and small, 12 in the van. We passed some groups on the walk that were easily double that size. All of the activities were so fun and very doable for both myself and my daughter. Would highly recommend this excursion and company.
Not such of good experience
Annetta_G, Mar 2023
Before anything the only reason why im leaving this review is because there's always room for improvement and whatever happens you do not brake the group.Tour guide Justice walked super fast to the point she broke the group in 2 and leaving the tour guide Paul completely behind to the point where some of us felt bad of being left behind and didn't even go into the 2nd half of the tour. Then we realized she had used another way out of the forest. If something would of happen there was no way of communicating since there's no signal. She has to understand it's easy for them to go in and our since they do it on daily basis but there's beginners who won't have the same speed and could have an accident trying to rush to catch up to them. Otherwise the description shouldn't mention beginners to moderate. Nothing personal like I said at the beginning the purpose of the review it's so it can improve.
Response from Host, Mar 2023
Hello Annetta, thanks for giving room for improvement. As you rightly mentioned we have two tour guide for our small group of 12 people maximum, depending of the speed of the group, one tour guide is staying more with a group that enjoy more the forest and the history some who enjoy more the water activities. Paul the tour guide who stayed with you knows exactly what he is doing, and have been working in the company since a year now. He just stay with your group a little slower, which is totally fine, you had your own experience of the El yunque forest at you rhythm, when Justice the other tour guide took a faster group. That"s why we have two tour guide so everyone enjoy the El yunque experience at their own speed. Thank you
Great for children too

I brought my six-year-old on the hike. He needed a little help along the way, but loved every second of it.
Awesome day!
Janet_M, Mar 2023
We had the best day! Nathan and Enrique were outstanding tour guides. The communication ahead of the hike day was thorough and timely. They were informative and helped make the hike accessible to everyone. They have the perfect personalities for tour guides and were a big part of what made the day so much fun!
So fun!!
Debra_H, Mar 2023
Great time! Nathan and Enrique were great and extremely support ice. You do need to me in decent shape. Be prepared to get wet and dirty. If at all possible continue with the second portion of the trip. So worth it!
Paul and Enrique we awesome guides

Loving Life!

Loved jumping of the cliff. I am 56 and I felt so young again! It was awesome being surrounded by so much natural beauty. Our tour guides were awesome!
Worthwhile Adventure
Matthew_N, Mar 2023
Hotel pickup was relatively on time, van ride to the forest was as expected. Hike into the forest was pretty easy as there had been little rain, so not a ton of mud. If you’re going after a few days of rain, expect a muddy mess. The 2nd part was excellent, climbing over rocks, tree roots and the like. Guides were helpful and engaged. Cliff jumping (20ft) and rock slide were both fun. Overall a very good experience and a break from the regular beach vacation activities. Would definitely recommend.
Great time!
Riana_S, Mar 2023

Perfect Day

Rope swing and rock slide we’re the best!
Tanner_O, Feb 2023
Highlight of our trip (spring 2022)! The best was the rope swing that we were able to swing more than once! Make sure you hold in your arms on the rock slide.
