What To Expect

Experience a new form of two-wheeled transportation as you cycle the mellow streets and beautiful beaches of Santa Monica and Venice with a guide on this tour by electric bicycle. It's the perfect opportunity to experience the gorgeous weather and ocean breezes of Southern California aboard an electric bicycle that you can pedal yourself (or let the motor do all the work instead).

Begin your bike adventure in Santa Monica with either a morning or afternoon departure time. Meet your guide and climb aboard your bike to begin your ride. Your ride for the day is a Pedego beach cruiser, a typical Southern California ride that's been modified with an electric motor. Choose to pedal as you would a normal bike, or flip the switch to turn on the electric motor and just enjoy a relaxing ride. Your bike includes six gears as well as high-end disc brakes, lithium ion battery and 500-watt motor that ensure you'll have no problem keeping up.

Start out your ride by traversing Santa Monica's iconic beach, heading towards the Marion Davies Guesthouse, past the Santa Monica Pier and then on to Venice, where you'll cycle around its famous canals. Enjoy the beautiful sun and cool beach weather as your guide shares fascinating details about the neighborhoods' architecture and history along the way. Finish your cycling trip back at your original departure point.

  • We recommend you wear closed toed shoes, sunscreen and sunglasses and bring a jacket (all bikes have double saddlebags for small items).

  • Important: The tour requires a minimum number of passengers to operate. There is a possibility that the tour may be cancelled after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring you will be provided with an alternate option or full refund.

Barb, our guide, was great! We were running just a few minutes behind due to traffic/technical difficulties and she was kind enough to call and wait the extra few minutes for us to get there. The e bikes were great! You have the option to pedal or use power or a mixture of both if you’d like. This would be great for any fitness level. Barb touched on lots of history of Santa Monica and Venice areas and pointed out homes and features that we never would have seen or known without her expertise. The included bottle of water and snack bars were the nicest touch! Overall, we had a great time and I highly recommend this activity to anyone in the area .

Barb was an amazing tour guide! We got to check out all of Santa Monica and Venice beach. I loved the Venice Canals, hopefully one day I’ll buy a house there. Haha! She moved at a great pace, and made sure we were comfortable on our bikes, which was a plus for me since I haven’t ridden a bike in nearly 10 years. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting LA.

Barb was a great tour guide. We had perfect weather for riding our bikes. The electric bikes were a plus for me. I would pedal on my own sometimes and when I got tired.....used the benefit of the electric bike. It was so relaxing to bike along the beaches.
