Was just okay

We loved the inflatable kayaks and going down the river. It was fun and beautiful! The tour guide sent us a text message with directions the day before. There were two separate addresses in that message and neither one led to the right place. So this added stress and frustration. We ended up just Google-ing the name of the winery, which gave us the correct directions (Alcantara Vineyards). The kayaking was a highlight. Bring drinks! The winery is definitely a rip off and inflated the price of this tour. Next time I would just pay to kayak through the tour company and skip the winery. The wine tasting was very small portions and didn’t come with anything (no snacks/cheese/crackers); just 4 shot glasses of wine. There was live music which we liked.

Fun, easy felt very safe. Water was a little low and slow but overall we had fun. Beautiful nature. We were able to ride to the beach walk up to winery and listen to live music while sitting outdoors in a beautiful setting.

I had such an exciting, fun, challenging, beautiful, thrilling experience kayaking down the Verde. My guide Emily was incredible! Her excitement for nature and and all things beautiful was contagious. It really was an experience I'll never forget. The wine tasting afterwards at Alcantara was the perfect cherry on top of this experience. I did a tasting, had the individual cheese plate and the caprese which were both great and while I sat outside to enjoy all of the above I was greeted by some resident vineyard cats playing around. My goal in life is to become a resident cat at Alcantara. My experience overall was wonderful! Thank you!

View was great. rapids were fun. Unfortunately my back rest deflated. I suggested flip flops. I wore sneakers and tried to walk to the bathroom at the end & ended up with 60+ thorns. Vineyard was really cute & cheese plate was really good

We have done this Water to Wine trip every year for the past 3 years, this was definitely the BEST trip! Our guide, Matthew was awesome! The river was pretty calm. There were only a few places where you actually needed to paddle but otherwise a relaxing float down the river. The kayak staff was friendly and had great communication. The winery staff was friendly. Wines were good. Food was good. Definitely recommend!!

Very pretty scenic views, might be nice to have a guide with the tour for folks that never really kayaked before… but 10/10!!! It was so much fun! And wine tasting to top it off was a great touch! Definitely would do it again and recommend to others!

Fun Verde Kayaking to Vineyard

The inflatable kayaks were comfy, fun, safe. Tour guides that drive you to starting point were knowledgeable and friendly. The kayaking was easy, you could slowly float down the shallow river, a few fun ripples (not quite rapids) were enjoyable. Vineyard and winery staff were nice, grounds were pretty, outdoor seating area was mostly shaded, had a band playing nice chill music, a little too crowded and small inside, wine was decent! We would do it again! A locker/changing room would be nice-just outdoor showers and 3 stall bathroom which got crowded with big group of girls.

Weather was in the 30s and 40s, but still a very enjoyable trip. Our guide – Thomas Bryant - brought splashguard pants and mitts, which were life savers. It was a perfect balance between running water and placid moments on the river. Great views. Very enjoyable and perfect for first timers or experienced kayakers.
