What To Expect

Start your half-day trip with a hotel pickup from Siena. Then relax on the journey into the Tuscan countryside that surrounds the city.

Your destination is Montalcino, a beautiful hill town that’s known for its medieval city walls and its wine. Here, you’ll enjoy tastings of the local wine along with snacks such as cured meat and traditional salami.

Sip Brunello di Montalcino wine, and hear how its production secrets and traditions have been passed down through the generations. One of the world’s most expensive varietals, the revered wine is made from Sangiovese grapes and matured for years in special wooden casks.

After your tastings, return to your transport for the journey back to Siena. Finish with a drop-off back at your hotel.

The driver Maximilian was very kind. The two wineries were excellent, especially the 2nd one. Both places had wonderful wine. The views from the 2nd winery were what you see in pictures. Absolutely beautiful!

This was a great way to get out and see wine country. It was an easy meet-up, beautiful scenery, and we visited 2 gorgeous wineries + time to explore Montalcino. Would recommend!

The driver was professional and friendly and while I expected a long drive, the experiences at the wineries were just ok at the first and disappointing at the second. It seemed the host had better things to do and couldn’t wait for us to leave. I’ve done many wine tastings and these were the most meager pours I’ve seen. Good wines though. I don’t think the value was there for the cost of the excursion.

I booked and paid for a tour with a Spanish guide for 3 (2 of us just speak Spanish). When the guide turned up it was only an English tour and he didn’t speak Spanish at all. He was actually very nice and tried to speak to us in Italian. The agency ‘myTour in Italy’ never contacted us to let us know that the minimum number required for the Spanish tour hasn’t been met. They should of told us and let us make the decision or offer a refund. My sister and cousin didn’t get a clue of the tour explanations. Still waiting for an apology at least but nothing. Viator didn’t do anything about my claim, still waiting as well.

Overall the experience was fun but you spend more time in the bus than the actual winery. The company really needs to do better at communicating and figuring out a pickup location. My wife and I spent 20 mins waiting at the “pick up location” given to us by the company only to find out that the driver was a half mile down the road waiting on us. It wasn’t only us it seemed to happen to everyone riding with us that day.

The 2 wineries were small intimate out of the way, and unique, and the wine was fabulous! I also loved the hill town, Montalcino. I appreciated our guide who was friendly and knowledgeable.

Small group of people. Very compatible. The two wineries were different. The Brunello wine was great. I was glad To sit up front with the guide who answered all of my questions. I especially was happy about his dropping me off much closer to Home than the meeting point.

Incredible Brunello Wine Tour

The trip was fantastic! On the way over, our tour guide, Daniel, provided us with a rich history of the area. He answered our questions. He also explained the intricacies of Brunello wine. The drive in the Tuscan countryside was spectacular!! The two wineries that we visited were excellent! The sommelier at both were fantastic. I highly recommend this trip!

We had a great group and Daniel was a lovely guide with a good sense of humor. We were able to see two wineries, catch the sunset in Montcino, and have a pleasant ride back. The pick-up was a bit late, but we were able to do everything before it got too dark out.

The tour itself is great, the wineries are perfect and lovely to visit. The small group size is also nice. However, please inquire on who your guide/driver is either before booking or before the cancellation period. If it is Romana, I highly recommend not going. She was highly unprofessional- she yelled at the group several times during the tour for various reasons like she perceived not everyone was listening to her in the drive out for example. She also yelled at the group for making her late to the second winery when two people purchased a bottle of wine at the end of the first tour (which really brought down the mood) & then proceeded to drive unsafely to the second winery (speed on dirt/gravel roads) to the point that workers at the second winery made comments about it as we arrived and also ensured we were in fact not late and were just fine on time. Some people on our tour inquired around about her and seems like she may have a history of this behavior. Mind blowing this is allowed to represent the company. Again, the places themselves are great so I’d imagine with a different driver/guide this would be a 5-star review, however we were unfortunate in being lead by Romana in our tour. Don’t make this same mistake.

Terrible tour guide experience

Romana our driver was horrific, dangerous and possibly mentally ill. She forced us out of the car in a town we did not know on the way to the first winery and almost drove away with my daughter’s foot still on the concrete because we got lost in the town and did not know where to meet her, which caused her to be angry with us. She drove way over the speed limit scaring us almost to death and causing various people to honk at her incessantly. She took my daughter to a abandoned field to go to the toilet. She told us she would take us to our car and then went wild because she couldn’t find it screaming and yelling and scaring us. She cursed, rushed us, talked badly about the price of the tour, and ruined what should have been a good experience. The wineries were wonderful but we could not relax having to get back in the car with her. She should not be employed by this company.

Really really great experience - small group of people, and the way it’s organised means everyone gets a chance to connect. Wine was excellent, and winery owners/operators very informative. Romana was an amazing driver and guide - the best we had on our entire trip!

I think it was a great wine tasting tour. The guide was exellent and the farms and tastings very very good. Only 7 people in a small van also made it easy and enjoyable.

Daniel and Fabio were excellent drivers, expertly handling the winding roads. Daniel provided us with interesting details about the region, its history and the wines. Both of our wine tours were lively and engaging with large pours of excellent Brunello! We even were able to make a stop for pictures in the beautiful Val D’Orcia! Highly recommend this for your next stay in Tuscany!
