This cooking class was definitely a highlight of our trip to Sorrento! The house, gardens and views are breathtaking. The staff and chef were so wonderful to us. The class was a lot of fun and informative. I’m excited to try making some of the food when I return home. All around great experience, kind people, and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a cooking class in the area. This cooking class was definitely a highlight of our trip to Sorrento! We loved the gorgeous setting, the small group experience, the pacing … would only suggest adding vegetables or salad to the menu - it was a great night! Grazie mille!

The Chez Barone Cooking Class is a must if you are in Ir near Sorrento. The property is breathtaking with Mount Vesuvius in the background. We were outside on a beautiful veranda with amazing chefs teaching us how to make pizza, ravioli, braciola, tiramisu and lemoncello. After making everything from scratch we dined on the fruits of our labor. Delicious!!! This an absolute must!!! Consider staying here too!

We had a phenomenal time. Hands on is right. We learnt proper ways to make pasta and pizza dough. Went through a great meat dish and sauce, finished with a nice desert. But best was the overall experience. The chef and assistant were lovely. And they let our group just get to know each other, have fun, and we had a brilliant four course meal at the end, with wine supplied. Was a great time overall. Have already recommended to friends visiting soon and will do so to others.

We enjoyed our time at the Chez Barone cooking school. It was a lot of fun. The driver turned up on time, the setting is beautiful and all the staff are lovely & personable. Our only issue was that the food we made was pooled together with that prepared by the rest of the class, cooked behind the scenes and then dished up. The chances of the food I prepared being the food I ate was practically nil, hence only 4 stars.

Excellent communication prior to the experience. Adapter pick up point for my husband and me in light of our accommodation. Pick up was smooth in a an air conditioned mini bus - though I did quite fancy the golf buggies others were arriving in. 😂 Lashings of Prosecco upon arrival at the most stunning villa I’ve ever seen. Panoramic views over the Coast of Sorrento surrounded by lemon trees - need I say any more? Had some time to mingle with the others booked in which was very lovely. The two chefs were knowledgeable and full of fun. We cooked up a storm with their guidance. We all sat down to eat together and had lots and lots of wine. We were then safely delivered back to our collection point. We left with the recipe book of our dishes and have recreated a few of them upon our return home. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience! We definitely would do again… Super fun cooking class, overlooks a beautiful view… Friendly people, you get to learn different Italian recipes, I absolutely loved the fried pizza! The dessert was delicious as well!! We had such a fun time! This is right by their hotel, I would consider staying at the hotel next time I come, as it looked beautiful!

This experience was really fun! It was quite a large group of us and everyone was very bubbly and social, which made the experience even better. We were picked up in sorrento and brought to the property, which is absolutely stunning. The cooking prep we did for our meal was well explained and we got our questions answered. My only concern was that hand washing was not directed before or after prepping each of the courses. Overall a fun experience and we made a few new friends during it as well!

My family had a wonderful time cooking with Mena! What a great time being outside with a beautiful view and scenic setup. She was very patient and accommodating to each of us as we made Fried Pizza, Ravioli, Beef (my vegetarians made a zucchini dish) and finished with Limoncello Tiramisu - delicious. Lots of laughs and it was not rushed so we enjoyed time for pictures, meeting the other guests and drinking wine on the grounds. The shuttle was also very convenient each way. Very enjoyable time - I recommend it for a unique family experience.

A perfect experience for those that will give anything a go and enjoy dining out.

A proud heritage of cooking passed on through generations - a great group of like minded people enjoying cooking a four course meal together and then dining- little to know skill needed it's just a beautiful way to enjoy a dinner party with people from all over the world.. and plenty of wine in a beautiful and unique setting.

Incredible views and lovely experience with friends and family. They even gave us round trip transportation from our villa in Massa Lubrensse in a golf cart, which the kids loved.

Such a fun evening. We had a great time with the other couples we were paired with. The instructor was outstanding and the lemoncello tiramisu was to die for. Thankful they gave us all the recipes.

Loved the group. Great teacher, super easy for beginners. Great food and good hospitality. We were a young couple and worried we wouldn’t enjoy it but it was great.

All in all this was an ok experience, what really made it special was the grounds that Palazzo Barone was located in with a beautiful view of Mount Vesuvius and Naples bay. What would have been great is if we were given a tour of the gardens and all the beautiful produce they grow this seemed like a missed opportunity. The cooking class was ok, but for the price paid I would have preferred to have eaten the food I personally prepared instead of someone else’s (you don’t get to actually cook the pizza or pasta yourself you make the dough only). At about 8.15 they seemed to want us to leave we were a group of 16 and the shuttle bus takes only 7 at a time but they insisted on rounding us up away from the beautiful view, they took the first 7 back to sorrento and of course the rest of us were left standing around by the main gate, it would have been nice to be able to relax and enjoy the sunset and wine whilst waiting for the shuttle to come back and get the remaining guests. For the price of £260 for two I expected a more intimate experience and beware they hustle for tips at the end saying they have children and grandchildren which considering the price we paid I felt was a little inappropriate.

Great evening but not really a cooking class!

We had a lovely late afternoon/evening. The venue is absolutely STUNNING and the two ladies, Hannah & Hannah we’re both brilliant, friendly and knowledgable. We were slightly disappointed as we booked a “cooking class” expecting to actually cook. Maybe it’s naive of us but we expected to cook and prepare all of the courses ourselves and eat our own food. What we did was great/fun but it was as follows: 1. helping to prepare dough for calzone (she cooked and then added the tomato sauce toppings etc) 2. helped prepare the ravioli with a filling that had already been made, ingredients measured out for us and which she cooked and also prepared a sauce for whilst we were eating the calzone 3 we helped prepare the meat course by seasoning and rolling the beef which was cooked by her and served with potatoes also cooked by her 4 we assembled the tiramisu with pre prepared (and delicious) cream Overall it was extremely great fun with wonderful people, very tasty and we learnt a little bit! We were just a little disappointed that it wasn’t what we expected from a cooking class/didn’t feel as though it was as hands on as it could have been. If you don’t enjoy cooking but want to do something a bit different then I would thoroughly reccomend this! If you want to learn more about cooking Italian cuisine and have a lot of input in the cooking process then you might be left a little underwhelmed.
