What an amazing day my mother and I had! First, Tony the owner of the company reached out to me after I booked and offered any help that I needed. He confirmed a few days before meeting location and time. His brother Marco was our tour guide for the day. Marco was so professional, nice, offered great suggestions in each city, had so much knowledge to share, and stopped to take amazing pictures throughout the day. The day was so great we booked again to have Tony drive us to a winery around Mt. Vesuvius the following day and booked again to have Tony drive us to Naples to give us a city tour before taking us to the train station. Next time to Sorrento, I know who I am calling.

A totally magical day in Amalfi with Marco. He has a wealth of knowledge that will put any history teacher to shame. We enjoyed every minute of our time with him. If you’re considering booking a tour, don’t hesitate!! It will be the cherry on top of your Amalfi Coast trip!

Marco was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable of the amalfi coast. He showed us many beautiful areas. He was flexible with our time. He asked us what we wanted to see. Would definitely use him and his company again when we come back

It was a rainy day. Instead of the private tour being moved by the company and driver, the driver gladly took the money and we went down treacherous roads in the pouring rain. We did not experience or see anything. The visibility was zero. About 2 hours into the 8 hour tour, we asked to go back to Sorrento and he gladly took us back early and at that point said that we should’ve moved the tour to a different day! No, YOU should have! How were we to know?!? It was a waste. We had never been up the Amalfi coast before and the driver should’ve known to cancel or reschedule because in the pouring rain you can’t see anything or get out and walk around. Would like my money back. It wasn’t worth it. Very expensive almost $600. His said his name was Marco but I’m not sure it’s his real name. More than anything driving on those cliff roads in the pouring rain was very dangerous as we had our 5 year old son with us. I can’t believe he drove us halfway up the Amalfi coast and didn’t even offer a partial refund. Terrible experience.

Thanks to you and Viator for this review. Same day you did your tour also other guests did the same and their tour was fine. Obviously it was rainy but it is November at it rains more than in August, thanks God and strangely other guests understood the situation. We provided you a professional driver in a comfortable and clean Mercedes people carrier vehicle. Running commentary, stops along the drive and proper time in the towns were provided but you complain anyway about the visibility, the rain and the treatment of your kid which was safely sitting on a proper seat with A/C on. What’s the reason I didn’t receive any message from you that day as we communicated till the same morning? What’s the reason you complain exclusively via Viator and with this negative review? Most probably because after we provided Marco (certified and supported by hundreds reviews and many pictures), the safe vehicle and several cares you decided to try exclusively to get your money back, without care that we spent our time, money and attentions for you. We always try to do our best and our guests know how much we care about safety. You got a rainy day but showers are not unsafe. Sometime it even exalt colors and brightness of landscapes. Anyway if in the morning you were contacting me saying “Tony the weather is bad and I don’t want risk the get wet” I would immediately accommodate your request (because there were not risks for safety!!). As we texted till the same morning about pick up time and location I can’t tell you to change day because I could scare you without a real reason. By the end you had Marco as driver (the best in our team), the day after we were all available and free then please tell the true cost because you paid way less. If you ever return to Sorrento I would be glad to offer you a tour for free but obviously I will make sure to move the clouds away at least for the intere tour. We afford our work with passion, professionalism and respect. If your intentions are different please do not pick our services. Thanks for your opinion, considerations and time.
Great drive on Amalfi Coast

Tony was terrific. He made sure we were happy and comfortable during our drive along the Amalfi coast. He stopped often for us to take pictures and told us some of the history as well. We stopped for an hour or so in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. This was adequate time for us in each to get a feel for the towns and to pop in a few stores. We had a nice lunch in Amalfi. Highly recommend a day with Tony!

We had a great day. We were picked up at the hotel. Our driver/guide was Tony, who spoke impeccable English and gave us a brilliant guided tour of the Amalfi coast. There was not a single question that Tony could not answer. We were also impressed by his excellent driving skills (you need that while during through extremely narrow and incredibly busy roads of Positano, for example) and a very clean well looked after car - a very comfortable drive. There is a lot to see so a full day tour was a great choice. Everyone, including our kids enjoyed it!

It was just my wife and I on this private tour of Amalfi. Our driver, Rosa was excellent! She was very knowledgeable about Amalfi and explained special landmarks along the way. The stops she made for us to grab pics will be cherished forever! She allowed us to customize timing, which was also great to spend more time at each stop. Highly recommend this private tour!

Tony made our experience of the Amalfi coast enjoyable. He provided tips on where to go on each of our stops. He slowed down when he saw we were taking photos during the drive. We also learned a lot of history about the area making us appreciate it even more. He adjusted our day due to weather and asked us what we would like to see instead. We made at least three scenic stops in addition to the towns. I wanted to do that, if I got to do this again next time I’d want more time in the towns. The time we arrived in Positano was perfect right before it got flooded with people. Amalfi we hit it right at the peak of lunch. It was an experience to be in such a chaotic filled place. Ravello right after that was perfect because it was so calm. We got to choose our drive back and getting to see the coast later in the day with less traffic was a nice ending to our day.

Private driver for Amalfi coast is very good idea to enjoy the scenery, but make sure you have 8 hours or full day of Amalfi coast drive no matter how bad the traffic is! You pay big box for this experience, so you shouldn’t go back from freeway!!!

Thanks for taking your time for writing this review. This tour was personally led by me. I always ask suggestions and eventual critics to my service in order to improve it. It is sad to receive your opinion exclusively via web. It seems you didn't know how to talk to me on person and you preferred come out your thoughts without any possibility to resolve my accused and supposed defects. As because I care about the descriptions of our tour I want to specify that our itinerary always follows the Amalfi Coast road also on the way back. This tour unfortunately was during the week when we hadn't the guys managing the traffic on specific narrow spots of the road and this is what caused long traffic lines and it toke several hours stuck in the traffic. Compass Tour care about the enjoyment of your experience with us and we care about the customization of every single service. All our services are improvable because they need to be adapted to your intentions, priorities and expectations, so your communication with us is essential. Please the next time try to communicate to your service provider because it would be better for everyone and especially for you.

Tony was EXCEPTIONAL!!!! Our boat tour got canceled due to rain, so I ended up booking the car tour. BEST THING THAT EVER COULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!!! Tony showed us things and places we would not have seen on the boat tour. He gave us phenomenal recommendations, he was VERY knowledgeable, giving us all the history details, and took us to the BEST place for lunch. He was so kind, funny and such a pleasure to tour with. He literally made our day better than we could have ever planned!!! What a blessing our boat tour got rained out. This was one of the best days of our trip to Italy. TONY, THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!!!
