Poor value for money

Our guide was lovely and there is no doubt the Amalfi has a lot to offer but as boat owners we felt the tour should have been cancelled. The sea was rough and it was perilous getting on board, the blue grotto was closed. We queried the day before but of course if we cancelled then we would not have got a refund. In contrast to other tours we have done, and having a good understanding of boating this was a disappointing money grab

We booked this tour for our family of 10. As we stayed in Naples, we paid an additional 400Eu for them to pick us up at the pier from Naples as opposed to us traveling to Sorrento which I think was worth the extra charge. Our Captains Marco and Sal were very nice and the boat was very nice, clean and well maintained. On the boat, towels were provided as well as local beer, wine, prosecco and individual bags of potato chips (which were considered the “local snacks” I guess). When you book this tour, the inclusion lists a limoncello tasting but that was not available. The trip from Naples over to Capri takes about an hour by boat. We were able to hook p our music and relax on the way over. The boat ride is a little but rough at times so I would recommend taking anti nausea medicine if you need it (we bought some in Capri) but was still very enjoyable. We were able to jump in and swim through the green grotto. There was not snorkel equipment available but they did have some pool noodles. The blue grotto was closed due to the water being high which I wasn’t even aware was a possibility so we did not stop there. Stopping at the main port on the island incurs and additional 100EU tax but they said they could make us a reservation for lunch on the island at another port and we would not need to pay that tax so we said yes to that. The food at the restaurant, Bagni Tiberius Capri was good - not excellent- but be warned, they do charge a 5EU plating charge ($50EU) total for our group which is not considered a tip. We wandered around the shops and also visited a small local rocky beach near the restaurant where we collected some beautiful sea glass. The trip back to Naples was choppy but we enjoyed sitting on the front of the boat and being sprayed by the sea!

Alex and Federico made it wonderful and fun. Alex gave us all the tip so we wont go home ripped off in Capri if you arent careful! He also made sure we maximized our time more than lining up in the blue grotto! We had the time to swim, shop relax take nice photos and had the best time in this tour!

Chilled day trip

Great day out. Nice boat in a small group. Knowledgeable and friendly skipper. I purposely booked this trip as it did not include the blue grotto as I had read that the wait times to get into the grotto can be up to a couple of hours. We made other stops around the island instead and allowed for more time to chill on Capri. Drinks included was a nice touch.

The trip was amazing. The sea that day was a bit rough so we could not see everything but the boat was great and the captain and his help were quite helpful. I was disappointed from the organization and logistics of the trip. 1. Once we arrived at Piazza Garibaldi, we could not find who our driver was because there were no signs or directions. There were too many tours and it was a mess. The driver should wait for the people with a sign (or code/name) at the designated location. 2. Good side: The driver of the bus was really friendly and helpful. 3. Once arrived in the port of Sorrento to take the boat, we had to wait until every passenger (even those who were not on our boat) checked in. This caused some distress as it was too warm and we had no idea for how long we had to wait. 4. Good side: Sorrento bay was gorgeous, so it made up for the wait. 5. Once back, the wait was even longer. There was a mess with assigning groups to buses. This can be very easily solved: Again the driver should hold a card with a code/name etc. Anyways we had a fantastic time and Capri is gorgeous.

Picked up right on time from a hotel in Naples 8:05 and driven to Sorrento, not sure whether that is made clear in the description of the tour but the boat leaves from Sorrento not Naples, a welcomed surprise as the town is gorgeous! We were dropped off and accompanied down in a lift to the shoreline. You pay a city tax to Capri of 2.50 each when picking up your ticket. We were told to wait outside at 10:15 for our boat number to be called. Our boat ended up being the last to leave at around 11, however it was the biggest boat they had and the views from the deck were breathtaking. From Sorrento to Capri the trip was 3 hours and our skipper stopped in various places telling us what the towns were called and pulling up to different sites such as a waterfall and a cave where you could see swimmers in. When reaching Capri we were shown the white grotto and another allowing for some amazing photos. We then anchored and could swim in the sea for quite a while, however no snorkelling equipment was provided like advertised. As we carried on the boat trip around the island we came to the blue grotto, unfortunately because of the tide being high the entrance was closed. Nevertheless the boat trip to Capri was such a wonderful experience. As we left later than the other boats we reached the island at 2 and were picked up at 6:30. We had lunch, all restaurants being expensive and most charging 5 Euros cover charge to sit, an unexpected additional payment. We remained close to the harbour and sat along the beach. A most fanatasric experience so far. Unfortunately, the seas on the way back were very rough not expected, usually always calm according to the skipper. Some passengers felt ill and were distressed. However the skipper provided food and drink and remained calm as he was not phased and didnt see any serious risk of danger, this being a comfort. When the boat moved slower the rocking was quite bad, to stop this the boat sped up but that meant more spray coming aboard as the boat hit the waves entirely preferable over the horrible rocking at times. The boy trip back to Sorrento took around 40 minutes and when we reached the marina we were accompanied back to our bus and driven back to Naples. Overall, the experience was unforgettable and breathtaking! Just unfortunate that we hit rough seas on the way back which was very unusual and doesnt normally happen. I would definitely reccomend!!

This trip was a blast. Great guide, great boat trip (kinda rough waters, may want to bring some dramamine if you get motion sick). I would have loved to stay on the island longer, but I'm ok knowing that I can come back and see it all one day in the future.

Trip was amazing. Captain Francesco was great. The only negative was the meeting point. Our hotel was in walking distance which we didn’t know and were told we had to meet at a certain spot that was the opposite direction. We had to take a taxi which took 20 minutes to get to the pick up location and about a half hour from there to the dock. My paper work told the location for pick up or that we could request a pick up at our hotel. I was told they could not pick up at our hotel which does not make sense because we were so close to the boat dock. So we wasted an hour and taxi cost of $20. We could have walked (25 minute walk) there and did walk back afterwards as the taxi provided would not go by our hotel. I would have rated this a 5. Other than that, being on the boat with our fanatic captain made up for the craziness. Thank you Francesco!
