Meeting point is at the entrance to the Diocletian's Palace cellars. The cellar entrance is located outside of the Diocletian Palace, facing the waterfront. Your guide will be standing at the entrance with a sign that says "Elite Travel" (near the bronze relief model of the city of Split).

Meet your guide at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Diocletian’s Palace, right where the center of Split meets the sea to start this exciting 'Game of Thrones'-themed tour. Hop into your van and head to the mountainside fortress of Klis. During the ride, learn gossip from the HBO show, as well as the history of the places you visit. Speculate with fellow participants about what will happen in future episodes of the show. 

Once there, explore the fortress, which acts as the city of Meereen in Season 4. Check out the views of the shimmering Adriatic and stroll around the fortress with your guide.

Head back to Diocletian’s Palace for your walking tour. The palace, built in the early fourth century for Diocletian’s retirement, was the setting for several scenes in the city of Meereen. Follow in Daenerys’ footsteps as you explore this 1,700-year-old palace, visiting the throne room and other featured locations. Then step into the cellars where the slaves worked with the Unsullied Army and Grey Worm to crush their leaders. Today the palace is a living monument, as residences and shops began moving into the then-ruined palace around the seventh century.

Damir, our tour guide, was excellent. He provided insight to not only GoT, but to the history of Split as well. The tour only lasted roughly 3 hours, and that included the transportation to Kliss fortress which was by private van. It was very awesome to see the real areas where they filmed so many iconic scenes in the city of Meereen! Damir was very nice, talked with our group, and never rushed or interrupted us. I just wish it lasted a little longer.

The tour was everything we were hoping it would be! Luka’s passion and excitement for Game of Thrones, Croatia, and history in general was contagious! He made sure we got the perfect vantage points to see where the scenes were filmed and had pictures from the show to go along with it. He also taught us the real history of the places we toured so we got a Croatian history lesson on top of the Game of Thrones tour. Highly recommend this tour with Luka!

Not a GoT Tour

I think that the extent of the GoT tour depends on your guide. This tour ended up being a 3.5 hour history lesson of Dalmatia. Our guide was not very interested in GoT and only quickly showed us all of the pictures in her binder at one time without actually showing us the specific filming locations. The tour ended up at a wine/cheese shop where we felt obligated to purchase souvenirs.

Our guide not only told us the information relevant to GOT but also the factual history related to Klis and the Old Town. Be careful when you are walking. At Klis the ground is uneven and in the Old Town slippery.

There was nothing wrong with this tour per se, but I wish I hadn’t paid the $80 to do it. It was cool to see some additional GOT locations after doing similar excursions elsewhere. However, as a solo traveler it was beyond awkward to do this trip with no one else on the tour. I wish they’d done me (and the tour guide) a favor and given the option to cancel/reschedule due to lack of participants.

We went on the tour on the 11th of September 2021 , Went through all of the game of thrones locations where our tour guide explained the scenes and how they created the sets for each of them. We also learned a great deal about the history of the city which was really interesting.. especially about the history of the palace which we saw as a bonus. Our tour guide was fantastic, really enthusiastic and answered all of our questions very clearly. For those complaining that the tour wasn't 100% about GOT then I'm not sure you can really call yourself a GOT fan since GOT is heavily influenced by history and if you like the content of GOT then why would you not be interested in hearing about the REAL LIFE siege of the Fortress of Klis (Meereen) by the Ottoman Empire!

If I wanted a 4-hour History lecture, I would have booked a history tour. There was a sprinkling of GOT in the tour, but we sped through those locations and even skipped one until I spoke up about it. Our guide definitely had a different agenda and forgot that the focus of a Game of Thrones tour should be, shocker, GAME OF THRONES!

Small group of 3, our guide took us in van to fortress where scenes of Game of Throne were done. Had a note book with photos of scenes. He was very informative roughly 3 hours. Also, basement of city Palace.

Our guide Agnes was very knowledgeable in the tour. Although it wasn’t a very good day to tour the Game of Thrones location because it was raining, Agnes made it happen for us, since she knew our time was limited! I definitely recommend her for this tour!

We missed the tour because the local guides in Split sent us to the wrong location even though th address was on the email.. Someone needs to educate the tour guides which is thed soutg gate vs, north gate tours. We were excited about the tour; therefore we were disappointedabout missing it. I'd like our money back.
