What To Expect

Begin your morning or afternoon Alsace wine tour in Strasbourg, where you’ll meet your guide and climb into an awaiting 8-passenger minivan. Travel along a gorgeous road known locally as the Route des Vins d’Alsace, or the Alsace Wine Route. Follow this 105-mile (170 km) route as it winds through rolling hills near the Vosges Mountains through land that contains hundreds of famous Alsatian wineries.

Find out how the soil, climate, and sun combine to create the perfect conditions under which the Alsace region produces world-renowned white wines. Taste most of the seven grape varietals that are grown in the area, including gewürztraminer and Riesling, noting how complex and different the flavors can be.

Get back on the Alsace Wine Route to end up at your next stop, a wine tasting in a classic Alsatian wine cellar (caveau). Find out why cellars such as this provide the ideal environment for the aging and storing of wine.

After the visit to the wine cellar, enjoy the scenery out of the minivan windows as you make your way back to Strasbourg.

The vintner and our driver gave us a fantastic presentation of each oh the 14 wines we sampled from the Alsace. I learned so much more about these wines (mostly white) than I have in my liquor store! Also, the drive through this beautiful part of France was magnifique!

This tour was amazing! Our tour guide picked us up in the middle of Strasbourg in a very spacious and new van. We had a wonderful time at both wineries. The guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Just enough time in each place. We learned a lot and had delicious wine and great photo opportunities! He dropped us off at our hotel so it was very convenient. Felt very safe. Perfect half day tour!

This tour was very informative. Florence is very knowledgeable about wine, the plants, the grape varieties, and had a great sense of humor. She was great!We were met on time at the pickup location. We laughed a lot because there just happened to be 5 of us from the same small state in New England, USA,and the other couple was also from the East coast. The wines were very good, the owners welcoming and eager to teach us about their wines and winery. It was havest time and they were actually filling a barrel at the time of our visit to the cellar,which was pretty cool! We definitely recommend this trip if you only have a few hours,we went to 2 wineries and up to the grape fields where she showed us the different varieties of grapes.

We enjoyed sitting in the air conditioned car between wineries while the tour guide shared info about the region and its history, specifically its wine history.
