we had Roberto as our guide. he is wonderful. very informative and kind. we were picked up from our bed and breakfast and taken to 3 wineries. we really enjoyed the first two. they were smaller and not so commercialized. all the wines were great and the food also. on the first winery the tasting was outside and it was just fantastic. definitely do recommend this tour!!

Perfect Start to Honeymoon!

This was on our first day in Sicily and really the perfect start to our trip! It was such a leisurely day and Maurizio was a wonderful driver/guide throughout the whole trip. He gave us insider tips and clearly enjoys his job. Would absolutely come back and do this again!

Firstly I would like to say grazie mile to Maurizio for being better than punctual, he was early, and for having driven us thru the Etna winery region all the while speaking in French to us, his third language. He noticed we spoke it in the car and offered to do the tour in French rather than English. We were thrilled! All the wineries were fabulous, each with its own personality. There were 6 of us doing the tour, and we got along extremely well. We had so much fun, the visits were great, the wines , I believe 12 in total, amazing. I discovered Etna DOC has a fabulous white wine that I will be looking for when I get back home. All 3 wineries had great food service with the wine, and thank you for the kiwi marmelade at Torre Mora.. what a nice little addition… I love doing winery visits, and I must say one cannot go wrong in booking this tour! You will love it… great wine, great food, astonishing views in the countryside and lovely personnel everywhere! An A+ experience! Bravo!

A Toast to Mt Edna

We tasted several wines at each stop so we could compare. Each tasting was paired with food. Wineries varied in size but all in Mt Edna area. Our guide was well versed in the volcanoes and history, geology and effect on wine. Educational.

A great way to discover Etna wineries

Elena was our brilliant guide for a delightful day exploring 3 wineries in the foothills of Mount Etna. We visited a small, medium and large vineyard and were offered delicious (and plentiful amounts of) local cheeses, meats, antipasti and pasta. Elena, our guide, even bought my wife a birthday treat (a local cake that she had told us about in the morning). Couldn't have asked for more, thank you Elena!

We wanted to learn about the grape growing and wine making practices of this region. In addition to enjoying wonderful wine and gorgeous scenery, we also achieved that goal. Our guide, Maurizio was charming and my husband and I enjoyed chatting with him in the car. He is an excellent driver and not too aggressive which was nice given the narrow roads. I believe he chose the wineries. If so, he did a good job because it was a nice mix of less and more commercial and more and less sustainable/biodynamic. All were interesting and enjoyable in their own way. Overall it was a fantastic day and something not to be missed if you are in the Etna region and enjoy wine. I couldn't imagine a better guide that Maurizio. His command of English was very strong which was good because sadly we do not speak Italian. We highly recommend this experience.

This wine tour was really really amazing and a fabulous experience. All of the wines we tasted were stunning and the accompanying dishes were plentiful- much more than we had expected. Everyone at the 3 wineries that looked after us were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. Our driver Andrea was perfect - great local knowledge and full of enthusiasm - he really helped make the experience.

Our guide Maurizio took us to 3 wineries where we sampled 3-4 different wines at each. We also had very lovely appetizers at each as well. The stops were paced very well too. Maurizio lives in the Mt Etna area and is very knowledgeable about the region and wine growing. He was very personable and knows the winery staffs very well. The wines we tasted were really good and very reasonably priced to buy at the vineyards. We even shipped a case on sparkling wine back home to Texas. We highly recommend this tour.

I can not say enough amazing things about our Tour and Guide Maurizio. Maurizio was very enthusiastic about Sicily and excited to educate us on the area. He was friendly, car was very comfortable and even though we spent a lot of time driving we didn’t mind because we learned a lot. Maurizio even stopped and got us a Coffee. I honestly am looking to book another trip so I can spend a couple days exploring the area.The wineries we visited were beautiful, friendly and treated us like Royalty. Sicily was one stop of 6 on a cruise we are on and this tour made the stop our favorite! Can’t wait to come back and have Maurizio show us around again!

This was one of the best excursions we have ever done and Maurizio was the perfect guide for our day in Sicily. He met us promptly at the port and had water and local apples available to us for the day. We immediately set off for our first winery (Murgo) where we received a indepth tour of the cellars and then we're treated to a tasting of several wines and a pairing of meats and cheeses. We then went off to our next stop (Gambino) were we were given a private tasting space, a chance to meet and discuss the wines with the owners, an incredible selection of wines, cheeses, meats and even a local gin. We finally ended at a finally winery where we were again treated to a tasting with a sommelier who went in depth to the specific grapes, flavors and pairings. As a special treat on our way back to Catania Maurizio took us through his hometown and introduced us to a couple of delicious locally made almond cookies and espresso. It truly was a magical experience and we could recommend this a thousand times over if you are in the area.

Most memorable was the car 4 of us (+ driver) squeezed into for our drives to the winery! No Covid worries, I guess. It was very uncomfortable, and we are 75-82 yo.. Our driver was Omar. Nice pleasant guy, helpful. He was to meet us in lobby, but had never been to our hotel before so went to lower parking lot & called up to front desk to say he Was down there. That made us late starting as it is about 10 min walk down thru the gardens. Tho “private” tour, we caravanned with two other cars (1 couple each) . Had our own tables, except last winery all together. 3 wineries, all good wines. Food was ok. Basically charcuterie at first two - only a bread with different pates at third. Certainly enough food (unless you don’t like olives & sun-dried tomatoes like my husband). We liked the third smaller winery best. Had to tell our driver he could pull up to front gate of hotel. We have had better wine tours. Not sure it was worth the money.

We are very happy for the review and for the nice words that you used for our guide Omar. We are also happy that you enjoyed the wine in each winery ("All good wines" you wrote) and that the food was ok! Thank you. The car was a seven-seater so we thought it was quite roomy. Frank, this is a private tour, it means you had a private car and a private driver and private table like your wrote "our own tables" but certainly the vineiries are open to everyone. So it is normal to meet other people inside the winery. We cannot book the winery for only four people. The six-hour tour lasted almost eight hours but for Omar and for all of us the most important thing was your enjoyment. At the end of the tour you asked if it was possible to do the same tour in the middle of November for your friends and Omar replied that we are happy to welcome them.

From start to end, this was the most amazing day. Bruno was warm and knowledgeable. He treated us like family with insights on the area and made sure all was perfect at each of the vineyards we visited. He curated a perfect day- private winery tour in the country, lunch with an amazing view at buzzy Gambino, and wrapping up the day with the delicious wines, hospitality and breathtaking views at Gibellina. I must add we felt at ease the entire trip thanks to Bruno ensuring we had water, tea, coffee, peaches (from his home!)… it was a true delight.

We had a lovely private day at 3 Etna vineyards! Marco picked us up on time and even brought me fresh fruit from his garden, which was so thoughtful. The cherries were delicious! We loved the 3 vineyards we visited and there was food served at all of them: meats, cheeses, jams, bread, olives etc. We weren't asked about dietary restrictions like on other tours but we managed fine. Overall, it was a wonderful and experience and I highly recommend!

We did this tour with our 4-month old baby and were a bit nervous about it as it was the first such tour since he was born. But Marco was fantastic about making sure that everything went smoothly. He communicated the pickup time the night before, helped us carry the stroller up and down some of the stairs, gave us enough time to feed and change the baby after eating, and even brought us some delicious peaches from his garden to start the day off. And in between visits he was eager to tell us about the history of Sicily, both ancient and modern. We’ve done a few of these types of tours in other countries, but this is hands-down the best one we’ve done in terms of quality and planning. 3 wineries in around 6 hours is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the views, the wine, and the food. For the wine—I didn’t have one I didn’t like. They were all great and we bought a few bottles to bring home. I’m a big fan of the Etna reds and whites. There was also plenty of food, so much so that we didn’t eat all of it (but made sure we tried a little bit of everything). A lot of the food was mostly meats and cheeses from the area with olive oil/bread. But we also had some cous-cous and some delicious pasta. If you are looking for a brief glimpse of vineyard life in the Etna region, and also take in some great views and enjoy local wine and food, this is the perfect tour for you.

Although our driver / guide (Raffaele) was knowledgeable and friendly, the car was too small and not a luxury vehicle at all! 3 of us squished into back seat and 1 up front. In other similar tours we have taken in Italy at this (high) price point we have had Mercedes class vans for the group, which is what you expect at this price, especially since we were in the car for 2-3 hours during the tour. The wineries were beautiful and we had interesting guides take us through their production facilities. For a 6-hour tour we did expect a proper lunch, not just antipasto with the wine. All-in-all we did enjoy the tour but would NOT recommend it for the price.
