He also took us to some cool spots and shops that we would never have known about otherwise. We learned so much from him about Tokyo’s history and culture. She has an energy and love for Japan AND because she has lived in San Francisco she could appreciate some of our more subtle questions about culture and social interactions. In the evening, we took a stroll through Kabukicho and Golden Gai in the heavy rain, watched Godzilla perform, and then parted at Memories Alley, I'm sure you had a good time there ! Wow- Mami is a wow! She is Japanese and lived in the US and married to a Scotsman - perfect combination . She is exuberant, extremely knowledgeable, gave us a phenomenal tour and excellent overview of the city . We had so much fun and we saw and experienced more than we ever expected . From shrines, temples, parks , d’épatement store food emporiums, fish market and even a stop for Soba noodles at a 100 year old traditional neighborhood locals place that specialize in soba noodles . We had an excellent private driver who made this tour possible, we are so fortunate with this team . Mami is bred for job. Viator is lucky to have her . We wish she was with us for the rest of,our trip. Kindly , she has been guiding us a bit as move throughout the country by text . Nothing not to love about her . Arigatou!

Arigatou Robin, Jean-Pierre, & Jean-Michel! My sides were hurting by the end of the day from laughing so much. We shared so much with our joined passion for food and nerding out over depachika presentations. These guys started out as pastry chefs at a desert company and brought over to the states in which I had the pleasure to learn about food and also share my own cooking experiences with. I had an amazing adventure in and around the city of Tokyo with Satoshi-San. So many great memories were created! Akihabara, Tsukiji Market in Asakusa, Sensoji Temple, the Metro System, Delicious Matcha Tea at a beautiful temple cafe on an island where Koi jump and smile while you rest comfortably. The day was filled with exploring the things in Tokyo wish I dreamed of seeing. Satoshi was knowledgeable in Shinto and equally urban mythology and the culture of Japan. We had amazing food and unforgettable moments! This is a personal tour and after experiencing it…you’ll gain a new friend and love for Japanese Life!

This tour is lovely. Rumi our guide spoke perfect English and was super knowledgeable. She even scheduled a traditional tea ceremony for us. We had a 4 month old baby and had to take stops to feed/change him but never felt rushed. Highly recommend this tour if you are traveling with kids but want to see the main sites of Tokyo.

I never write reviews but I felt absolutely compelled as this was such an awesome experience with an even better tour guide. First of all, I'd recommend going private and request Mami as your guide for peace of mind that you'll have the best experience possible. She contacted me days prior to me arriving in Japan to get an idea of what I'd like to experience in Tokyo so she could have our entire tour planned and we weren't guessing/wasting time on the day of my tour. I honestly had no idea what to see aside from the typical landmarks, etc. However she got to know me and curated an amazing tour based on my likes/personality. When she picked me up the morning of my tour, I felt as if we already knew each other. As if I had a friend that lived in Tokyo and was showing me around for my first time there. She speaks perfect English as well as Japanese so I learned a bit of Japanese throughout the tour as well. She was more than prepared for our day and took the lead straight away. All I had to do is go along for the ride. I was impressed. Her personality is amazing and she kept me laughing the entire day while learning so much about Tokyo as well as Japan overall. We saw everything. Certainly more than I expected. I travel the world monthly and I'd have to say that pound for pound, Mami is the best tour guide I've ever had anywhere. She has definitely found her calling of creating the most amazing and memorable experiences for people and made this tour more than worth the money. It's because she's just a great person, she cares, and is dedicated to ensuring people learn about her culture while having a great time and fun in the process. As the CEO of a publicly traded company in the USA, I know that she is such a great asset to her company. You're guaranteed to have a great time all while exploring and learning a lot from Mami about Tokyo and Japan. This is a tour you will get the most from if you take a little time to prepare, such as letting your guide know what you are interested to see and taking time to review the individualized tour itinerary. It is ideal for the first-time traveler to Japan to whom the intricacies of its well run transportation system or some aspects of its high-tech society may seem daunting. Our half day tour was extraordinary. Though we had limited time, Mami, our guide, did an excellent job showing me and my family all the best of Tokyo. She took all of our individual interests into account and catered to each of us. Mami wasn’t pushy or rude, but did a good job of getting my family from one place to the next, which is a task, considering how easily we scatter or wander off. She gave us amazing recommendations and even helped us make reservations for dinner, (which happened to be the best dinner of our lives.) Not only did she manage all that with ease, but also helped us plan the next days activities. We had some of the best thrift shopping I’ve experienced, along with great temple and shrine walk throughs. Me and my dad also really appreciate anime and manga, so Mami did and excellent job of showing us anime inspired attractions and shops. This tour was memorable, efficient and most enjoyable.

We enjoyed the day greatly. The guide spoke perfect English, was very knowledgeable and patient. He explained things that would be hard to get or understand as a tourist. We went to a lot of places, some of them would've been hard to come by on our own. And he showed a great deal of flexibility and was able to accommodate some of our requests. Mami our guide is arguably one of, if not the best tour guide we have ever had in our various travels. Highly energetic and patient.
