What To Expect

Escape from Vancouver for a few hours with a visit to Grouse Mountain a year-round theme park celebrating the outdoor and cultural heritage of British Columbia. Get up close and personal with some of the region's incredible wildlife and enjoy fun shows, rides and exhibits, all set among the beautiful forests near Vancouver.

Start your visit by making your own way to Grouse Mountain, located just 8 miles (13km) from Vancouver at your leisure. If you wish, take advantage of the park's complimentary round-trip shuttle from downtown. The shuttle service is based on a first-come first-serve basis and is not guaranteed. The park is open from 9am to 10pm daily. Upon arrival at the park make your way inside, spending as much time as you like enjoying the diverse activities and shows on offer. You can also add in additional park activities including paragliding and ziplining at your own expense.

Peak Experience ticket Your purchase of the "Peak Experience" ticket offers access to a variety of Grouse Mountain amenities. Check out the 45-minute Lumberjack Show, performed in a 1900s-style logging camp. Or head to the Birds in Motion show, where you can observe these graceful aviary hunters as they soar through the air. Meanwhile over at the Wildlife Refuge, a ranger gives talks about the region's indigenous species including bears and other alpine creatures. During summer you can also take a trip on the Peak Chairlift, a summer attraction offering bird's-eye views of the mountain via an on-site ski lift.

During the winter you'll also enjoying ice skating at the park's outdoor rink, sleigh rides and trails for snowshoeing. A December "Peak of Christmas" celebration helps add to the holiday spirit.

Whatever time of year you visit, you admission also includes nature movies at the Theatre in the Sky, Peak Chalet access and round-trips on the Skyride, a 1-mile (1.6km) aerial tram offering sublime views of the surrounding area.

Wonderful experience

Would of been nice to put up a sign that movie was not working. If your a short person it's very hard to walk around here, my friend wasn't able to do so. So please keep this mind , also when purchasing photos make sure you check your email before leaving as they sent me the wrong one.
Best aerial view of Vancouver!
Erich_D, May 2023
The ride up (and back) is incredible! The views we got of Vancouver and the bay are spectacular, and the ride to the top is and back is quick. There’s a whole resort at the top, and we enjoyed walking over to the bear habitat- lots of views the other direction. Bring mosquito spray!! We enjoyed the treats we got from the cafe back in the main complex, and the views from the decks are awesome!
Enjoyed my visit

I wish I wear a bit more layer when I went up. The view is nice and it's a great place to visit again in the summer!
Price is worth it alone!

The process was easy to follow. The tickets were readily available at the Guest Services. The Price is on point for the cable car ride up Grouse Mountain
Waiting was over an hour

Guests with online tickets that were purchased from outside vendors like Viator have to get in the longest tickets/information line to retrieve entry tickets. We stood in line over an hour to retrieve our entry ticket to learn that if we just buy the ticket on location it would have been the same and we don’t have to get in line.
the gondola was way too...
kevin_m, Oct 2022
the gondola was way too busy but once up the top the views were well worth it. Chairlift was good as was the lumberjack show
Great views

Walking up to the highest point of the mountain and seeing the bears on the way, the ski lift was a fun experience
The Great Outdooora

We got to meet Coola! Absolutely get there in the morning so you can see the owl talk, and then listen to the bear talk as well. The lookouts are fantastic, and it’s super peaceful. The lunch cafe in the chalet was really nice also, full of great healthy fare. It’s also super easy to get to by public transport. I recommend the ferry from the waterfront and then take the bus.
Fantastic Activity

The cable car ride is exillerating. The lumberjack show was excellent and very entertaining. The Grizzly bear was (one was hiding) great to see. (in our month in Canada this was the only bear we managed to see, so that was fortunate)
Great site to help with your itinerary

First time user of Viator. I was apprehensive at first because I didn't want to prepay for our Grouse Mountain admission tickets but went ahead and did because they offer full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before your activity. Once we got to the park we had no issues redeeming out tickets and we had a great time. The last thing you need when in vacation is having to worry about losing your money in prepaid activities or dealing with illegitimate businesses. Overall a good experience!
Excellent view. Loved the bears.
Casey_E, Aug 2022
It was a beautiful day and we could see everything from the top of the mountain. got some great photos of the bears and the view. Last time I was here, we could do the Eye of the Wind, so a little disappointed that was still not open. I assume due to Covid. Lunch was delicious. Really good time had by all.
Beautiful Views

A great ride to the top of the mountain for lovely views, great movies, and little hiking. I especially liked seeing the Georgia Strait. Food and Drink was to expensive. $4 for a small bottle if water.
Disaster

No memories once we arrived realised there was too much walking involved and as we are disabled turned around and came back to Vancouver
Get there early for gorgeous crowd-free views
Chrissy_D, Aug 2022
We loved our visit to Grouse Mountain - two adults and a teen were all happy to be there and enchanted by the incredible views and engaging shows. We strongly recommend arriving early (we got there around 10) to beat the crowds. In fact, while everyone else watched the lumberjack show, we went up the chairlift and had the top level nearly to ourselves. Don't miss the raptor show, though - the birds are amazing to see in action up close.
Grouse Mountain is...
Raymond_J, Aug 2022
Grouse Mountain is BEAUTIFUL! The only reason I took off a star is because I was told that the shuttle picked up at Canada Place and I waited there for two hours before I got info that the bus came one street over. I had an evening flight that day so I was trying to get as much time there as possible but lost a couple hours being where I was told to be. Still a beautiful place and I will go back the next time I'm in town.
Fantastic time

The grizzly bears and one young lady that works on the mountain. Here name is Astrid (I’m not sure I spelled .that correctly) she is 6’1” tall and from Belgium. I am handicapped and she realized I was having trouble and came to my aid to get me back to tram area. Totally amazing staff member and deserves a big attaboy! Thanks Astrid, Bill
Absolutely amazing

We had the most amazing experience. I was expecting a little bit of snow as it was a week from summer. And wow it didnt disappoint. This was the highlight of our Vancouver trip. Would definitely recommend.
Raining and Cloudy

You were fantastic The weather beat both you and us out of an enjoyable adventure We'll be back to take advantage of what B C has to offer
Fun Day
Bev_B, Aug 2021
Lumberjack show and chairlift were so good. Would like to have a shorter zip line opportunity for children that would take them on just one line. ( my two grandchildren age 10 and 12 were so disappointed that it was a two hour trip. We did not plan for that length of time nor the expense for 4 of us to go).
Awesome!!
Maria_V, Aug 2021
Climbed to the top forgoing the ski lift. Was a little challenging because the sun was shinning bright! Lots of area to explore to find prime photo ops! Scenery is incredible. The restaurant was a bit confusing however. Very happy we booked this adventure!
