What To Expect

You pick the starting place for your hop-on hop-off tour from one of the key stops in Vancouver—such as Gastown, the Robson Shopping District, or Chinatown. You can get on and off the open-top bus as often as you like to see the highlights of Vancouver at your own pace.

Key city attractions including Vancouver's famous Stanley Park. Admire the exquisitely carved First Nation totem poles, the most visited monuments in British Columbia, at Brockton Point. If you have time in your custom itinerary, hop off the bus at a spot in the park where you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride (weather permitting).

If you're in the mood for some shopping, consider getting off the open-top bus at Robson Street, with tiny boutiques and big brand-name stores to browse. For a bite to eat, check out the array of food stalls at Granville Island’s Public Market.

Tour did what it promised. Bus was on time. Actual bus itself was an old school bus with plastic sheeting over the windows that was scratched and dirty so you could not look out.

Sorry but we did not enjoy the tour and only went short stops. Firstly, the bus needs improvement already but more so with the driver as so difficult to understand what he was saying. When it reached Gandville Village we went down and good thing my husband was looking at the signs since we could not understand the driver.

Not worth the money in the rain

The plastic windows in the rain blocked all view. We couldn’t hear the audio on the second bus and the driver didn’t speak clear. I found 45 mins between buses too long and tracking the bus via wifi is difficult. I took a private tour with the same company the next day which was excellent but to get around the city I would recommend a taxi.

I liked the fact that you needed a headset to hear only if you needed a non-English language, because that made it much easier to hear and understand the commentary. The minor problem was that once or twice the bus driver spoke over the recorded commentary, making it impossible to understand either.

This hop on hop off bus trip was the worst we had experienced on our tour of canada. We did them in both montreal and toronto and the buses were clean and there was a guide. Not so on this one, we saw the sights but it was not as professional as the others and the bus old and dirty.

Poor online purchase process

The online purchase of the voucher was easy but your instructions to download “tickets” was flawed! When the app said “download your tickets” all you got was a QR code and red font text that prominently said these are not your tickets! You must show you QR code to receive your tickets….. And none of the drivers knew anything about the QR code! Seemed like a good idea but poor execution! Much more stress than a vacationer should endure. We almost requested a refund!

We have taken hop on off off in other cities but here in Vancouver it was poor Unclean buses the plastic roof was hard to see thru. A couple of the stops were good but other ones were irrelevant. Buses didn’t keep to a 30 minute schedule. Narration varied in quality by each bus. Did allow us to get around to Stanley park and gas town. Chinatown was disgusting and filled with people sleeping in the streets.

Average bus, good harbour cruise,

We booked the Hop on Hop off and harbour cruise combo. Bus tour was average, very loud and old bus so was difficult to hear the commentary and made for a bumpy ride. Not a very personal experience or sightseeing tour - if you’ve done these in other cities, it was very different to those we’ve done for example in New York and Edinburgh. However, it was a handy way to get to different parts of the city and as we gas a limited time in Vancouver was a good way to see it all. Harbour cruise was a much better experience, would recommend. Tour guide was informative and fun and was a great way to learn more. Check when booking combo that you need to exchange your receipt for a ticket - no one told us and we nearly missed the boat!
