Great experience, great guide, great memories

Blondeau was our guide and overall she did a wonderful job at giving us a great tour and overcoming some obstacles. The tour gave us a GPS meeting point that was unfortunately 10 mins away from were we actually had to meet. Fortunately a local was able to point us the right way and mentioned that a lot of people get that wrong GPS direction a lot. After finally meeting up with Blondeau, she did mention that France was currently going through a national strike and unfortunately for us Thursdays are their national strike day. This meant that the Versailles Palace opening was delayed by an hour. Blondeau kept our spirits up and once we were able to get the tour started, she did her very best to get us through the tour knowing we now had less time and because of the delay everyone was entering at the same time. The palace itself was grand, beautiful, opulent and over the top. Hall of mirrors is spectacular and the gardens is well worth the upgrade. Definitely worth a visit. One tip I would offer is to look for a tour that includes the transportation to and from versailles. We opted for a tour where we had to find our own way to versailles from Paris. While only about a 50 minute trip, it did include multiple transfers and multiple modes of transportation. In retrospect being a first tome visitor I would have opted to meet in Paris and get transported from there, but if you have experience it should be easy enough to handle on your own.

Our guide was very informative. But the venue was too crowded and it was difficult to enjoy the spectacular rooms on display. Skip the line? We were waiting for a long time as multiple groups were queued to enter.

I enjoyed learning the history and commentary about life in the palace and the political implications. I was a little disappointed because there was no tour of the gardens or the cottage. Tickets for the cottage were included but we had to walk there on our own and by the time we got there they wouldn't let us in. Closes at 6 and it was 3 mins past 5 which was the cut off. I am feeling a little ripped because of that, I paid to see the cottage Pavilion and didn't get to.

THE MOST TERIBLE EXPERIENCE

Good morning from Greece! A few months ago, I booked through my agency in Greece a visit at the Versailles with skip the line (priority access) included for me and my husband. I had specifically asked and thought that Ι got a visit at the Versailles with guide, not whole of course but a big part of it, and access to the fountain show, to the gardens and to petit and grand trianon. What we got was a small tour at the palace maybe 10 rooms, a stood up, the tour didn’t start on time because you had the rendezvous point only in French written and the guide was late. At the end of the tour, the guide told us that there is no time for the petit and gran trianon (with a bad manner!) you should visit only the gardens. We tried to enter the gardens and the security told us that they close up early and all the agencies have been informed, because of the fountain show, we had the tickets for the gardens, but the tour for the palace had started 45 minutes later. What is the point to pay a skip the line ticket if you lose time. The people with no skip the line ticket entered the palace earlier than us. We try to get to the fountain show and the told us the we had to pay extra! The highlight of our experience was the remark from the tour guide: if you wanted to see everything you should take the morning tour! As if we know! So you sell something that is not possible to achieve? And when someone is asking for a whole visit you do not inform him that this is not possible to the afternoon tour and that everything closes at 5 pm especially when they have the fountain show!

Disappointing and disheartening

We were lost on the way to the tour and called, texted and emailed Viator for help. The woman who finally answered the phone told us “too bad” and “next time be on time.” She did not offer any help or communicate any concern at all. Nor did we receive any response to our email begging for some accommodation. Very disappointing and a turn off to ever using Viator again. We have been a valued customer for years, but no more.

Victor is bad. The dont answer our questions! I will never buy tickets from them again!

Meer dan €300,- voor 5 personen (gezin). De kaartjes voor Versailles en de tuinen kosten nog geen €100,- voor ons.Dus €200,- voor de gids.Voor dat geld krijg je uitleg bij een kamer of 7 en ben je een goed uur onder de pannen. Ik vind het dat absoluut niet waard. Mijn advies,koop gewoon lekker alleen kaartjes en loop de kamers door met Wikipedia op je telefoon. Scheelt een hoop geld.

En la descripción del tour te dicen que la visita es guiada… y que incluye la vista al palacio, a los jardines, al Gran Trianon y al pequeño Trianon. Te ponen que la duración de lo que estás comprando dura 2.5 horas… pero resulta que la guía solo fue para explicarte lo más importante del palacio, lo cual duró menos de una hora. Ni siquiera vistamos todos los salones del palacio. Luego de que se fue el guía, tuvimos que regresar por nuestra cuenta para visitar otras salas. Los Trianons también tienen mucha Informacion para conocer pero tampoco hubo guía y tuvimos que hacerlo por cuenta propia. Te dice que incluye LOS ESPECTÁCULOS DE LAS FUENTES como si compraras un ticket para algo especial, pero no es así, solo incluye la compra de las entradas común a los jardines, donde es las piletas que pueden estar funcionando regularmente. No crean que incluye algo adicional en este paquete. La explicación del guía fue muy buena, pero demasiado rápida y corta. Te venden el paquete como si estuvieras comprando algo bueno, que incluye muchas cosas… pero LO ÚNICO ESPECIAL POR LO QUE ESTÁS PAGANDO ES POR UNA EXPLICACIÓN (GUÍA) DE UNA HORA. Con esto, podrías pagar por tours más baratos y comprar las entradas para los jardines directamente, por tu cuenta.
