Arrival Time: 15 minutes before departure, dressed ready for the weather of the day. If you are late, it is not possible to delay the tour for you. Meeting point: our stable at Smiðjuvegur 6 in Vík. Access is through the Orkan petrol station, opposite Hotel Kría.

It was amazing! I just wish it lasted longer because it was such an incredible experience and the views on the beach were breathtaking

Nothing wrong with horses or staff. They are good.
We did this on second week of March and the weather is -10 degrees C. When you are near beach and with wind it feels like -15c. Rides shouldn’t open at all for this kind of weather. Whatever you wear the gear you won’t be comfortable unless you are used to this kind of cold. It’s not fun and I wouldn’t recommend to my friends or family in these months.

We are sorry you were cold on the tour; we do send pre-arrival information to travellers advising them to dress according to the conditions of the day with warm layers (similar to what you would wear for hiking). We offer riding tours year round and although the weather in Iceland can be unpredictable, most days it is no problem to be out riding if you are prepared with good clothing. It was cold and a bit windy, but the beautiful sunshine was perfect to enjoy on horseback. Another time feel free to chat to staff ahead of the tour if you have any concerns about the weather and we can maybe try to reschedule you for another day. We hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Iceland!

I had so much fun! The guides were great. It was a beautiful ride on the beach even in the snow. They also are kind to their horses and rotate them out every few months so they get to go on holiday.

Had a fab time with Vik Horse Adventure, and it was the best way to kick off a day with a horse trek along the Vik Black Beach. Deirdre was our guide and she was on the ball with all the riding tips to keep you safe with your horse and also have fun. Can’t wait to head back over Christmas! Also- sing out to Eldhrimnir who was my horse mate. Cheers buddy!

Amazing. Had to reschedule due to weather. Day of was still pretty bad but they were kind to still take me out and it was worth sand and wind in my face! The horses are wonderful and they let you meet all the horses in their stable. I can’t recommend them enough, just stunning!
