The drive to the ice caves was very bumpy on uneven terrain so just be aware that you'll be driving for 40 minutes with at least 25 minutes in a bumpy rude.

The hike through the ice cave only takes about five minutes then you’re out in the crater.

A++++ experience, and you do not want to miss this opportunity!!! Visiting the volcano, glacier, and ice cave was a highlight of our trip to Iceland. The village of Vik is quaint, with much to offer and see. We didn't have much time, but we used to see the black sand beaches. It was March for us and extremely windy, so we wore our warmest skiing gear. The meeting point had plenty of individual restrooms for you to change into warm gear, which is recommended as it can be even more windy and cold when you reach the volcano. The super jeep ride was comfortable, and our gear was not overly warm, so suit up beforehand. Upon arrival, the guides fit your shoes with ice grips to make walking easy. They are easy to attach to your boots. The hike to the ice cave is about ten to fifteen minutes. It is pretty windy, and the dust from the lava kicks up, so wear sunglasses to block your eyes. Once we arrived at the cave, the wind was gone as it was stopped by the valley walls. The cave is a marvel and well worth the drive there, which is about 45 minutes. The guides explain the ice cave's formation and safety rules. Our guide even picked some ice off the walls to crunch that was hundreds of years old. Inside the cave, there was so much exciting light and shapes in the ice to see, and our guides assured us we would have plenty of time for photos, so we were instructed to look first on the way through and then take all the pictures we wanted on the return. The ride back allowed us to see the lava beach landscape better as the skies had cleared, and it made the 45-minute return speed by.

Really great time went into a few arches and a long ice cave and got to walk around a mulan for a while - tour guides had loads of info and were great fun, the drive was fun I sat in the front but if you like bumpy rides go do the back seat

Incredible! Our tour guide (nickname was Hawk) was excellent!! He made sure that we had loads of time to take photos and to take in the experience. There was another tour group there but he made sure we were in front of them and then we left after them to maximise our time and make it feel like a private tour.

The caves themselves are amazing! They were beautiful and we definitely enjoyed our family excursion to see them. However, the guide was not great. No one was given headlamps or lights to move through the caves in the dark so we had to rely on the guide who was VERY negligent when it came to making sure people could see. The flashlights on our phones were not strong enough to be of use and you can’t exactly have it out while trying to feel your way around, hold guide ropes to get across tiny bridges, etc. I definitely recommend seeing the caves, but find another tour company that takes more care of their travelers.

This so far was my favorite day in Iceland. Not only was Vik beyond beautiful, but this Ice Cave Tour was nothing like I have ever experienced. The views were indescribable and we had an awesome tour guide. I would do it again, and highly recommend. Just make sure you take their advice and wear waterproof clothes/shoes/gloves/layers.

This was the adrenaline junkies dream. Our tour guide was awesome, the caves were incredible and the scenery was nothing I can compare it to. The one thing I will say is that our tour went an hour over the original time, causing us to miss the lava show right after. The reason it went over was because there were a couple of people in our group who were not prepared for this tour. Please be advised that this under certain weather conditions, this is extremely vigorous and should not be done if you are not able to balance, hold your own strength up by a rope, and be out in the cold and wet weather for multiple hours. Besides the ones who held us up, everything was great. (And our tour guide was so incredibly patient and took this woman through the entire thing) he was serious incredible.

An incredibly beautiful trip. A must do. We really enjoyed our trip, it was such an incredible thing to be able to see and experience. Our Guide was really informative and friendly. We were very lucky the day we went on this tour. The sun was shining and the ice cave we went into was very large and absolutely beautiful. It was higher up than I thought, but the guides were wonderful and helped me overcome my initial fear (I’m nervous of heights, so going back down out of the cave was a bit scary for this old lady). It was totally worth the trip and I recommend it to anyone looking for a unique opportunity.

Had to reschedule because it was bad driving conditions. The most memorable part was the 6-hour drive in the pouring rain to find out that I was given the wrong time and they left without me. They said I can come back the next day if I paid another 50% and I asked for a refund but they were very rude. I do not recommend.
