Our tour guide, Enrique, was exceptional! He was very much in tune with the varied abilities of his group of about 10 people and, most important, he provided us with an exciting tour along with educational and interesting talks about the glaciers. If you've never walked on a glacier, do it!!
Must Do

The weather was windy, snowy and blustery cold in February. Our guide Lauma kept us safe but encouraged us to keep going despite the harsh weather. She knew the beauty that we would see if we kept pushing on. I’m glad she pushed us cause it was so worth it!

Our tour guide was great and the glacier itself amazing. Learned a lot and had fun despite the whipping wind!
Amazing experience!!!!!!

This was such an amazing experience, made even more special by the fantastic guide Pavel - who is extremely passionate about the glacier. Walking through the crevasse field was stunning but made even more spectacular when we were taken down one of the crevasses and into the glacier. My 8 year old was looked after extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience too.
Breathtaking

Our guide was amazing! He was knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. We would definitely recommend this adventure. The sites were in credible and the pictures don’t do it justice.
An absolute MUST in Iceland

Wonderful experience and a MUST do in Iceland! Our guide Steven was the best, very knowledgeable about glaciers and thanks to him, we had the best time on ice ever!
Surreal experience

Awesome unforgettable experience. Our guide Barb was very nice and knowledgeable. We met at the site then got geared up and walked to the glacier. We put on our crampons and started the glacier hike! Very surreal to be on top of a glacier. Not a difficult hike, did not get winded or felt at any point like I needed a break. Also got to taste glacier water. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
A must-do in Iceland

My husband and I went on this in August 2022. Wow!! While it was an exhilarating experience, it still felt very safe. Our guide Nicole was the best! She made sure everyone was following and was there to help us get our safety equipment on. She was funny, friendly and knowledgeable. We were so lucky that it didn’t rain. My favourite part was getting to drink the fresh water from the glacier while doing a push up. Apparently it rains 350 days a year on the glacier. I highly recommend this tour for anyone with a moderate fitness level. It’s not difficult. tips - there are no real washrooms only portapotties at the bottom of the glacier and no food options so bring your own snacks.
Amazing experience

Nicole (I hope I spell it right) was amazing. It is so great to see people who enjoy what they do and want to share it with others. Glacier has to be on your list if you are in Iceland.

Fabulous experience! . First off, note I am not the not the most avid adventurer, so wasn’t quite sure what I was signing up for! I was a bit nervous but my guide (sorry can’t recall her name - that’s her in the photo) was amazing - totally calming which made my experience great! Loved it and Coming from NYC - this was truly a natural wonder!
Great family activity

Good for the fit and young

Our guide Francesco was very patient and friendly throughout the whole journey. There is a good fifteen minute walk uphill (light grade) before getting to a downhill walk to put on crampons, then walk another little ways before you are on ice. Amount of time on actual glacier will depend on if your group can easily keep up with the guide or not. Also, arriving early as directed doesn't seem necessary since we spent a good amount of time waiting for everyone to show, sign medical waivers, get fitted for crampons, get other equipment, etc. before setting off. If you are not in good shape, not comfortable with walking uphill/downhill at a good pace, are not confident with walking on a glacier in crampons, it would be good to reconsider this activity. We ended up in a group with three folks that were around 70 years old and the majority of our time was spent either waiting behind them while our guide helped them move along throughout the whole journey, or waiting ahead of them while our guide went back to help them move along. Advice for the staff: 1. Be sure to check that all crampons have full-length straps before handing them off. One of mine had torn and was too short to tie, but thankfully Francesco had a spare that he used to temporarily repair mine. 2. Split groups into slow/medium/fast paces instead of arbitrary division into three groups. That way slow folks can stay together and be happy while faster folks can also stay together and be happy. In general, nobody over 65 (unless in great shape) or that struggles walking up/down steep grades should go on this activity. 3. Be more conscious of tour completion times. Our tour ended way over the indicated time and we had to rush onward to complete next activities because of the very slow members of our group that our guide was helping. Despite the frustrations with members of our tour group preventing us from having much time at the top of the glacier, we still had a good time.
Great experience!!

We had a great time! The tour was conducted by Arctic Adventures. Well organized and started right on time. Meeting point was at the yellow school bus like the instructions said. We had an awesome guide Francesco who showed us how to get the equipment on and how to use them. He helped us all through the hike! Our ages ranged from 11-55 and varying hiking abilities. We all managed fine! It was a great experience. Definitely recommend it!

It was our first experience on a glacier and everything went super well. We were expected at the yellow bus in the parking lot. We got the necessary equipment. The guide was very professional and especially made us aware of safety. Very nice experience
Recommend for fun adventure!
