We lucked out. It was a beautiful sunny day with little wind which is unique up on the glacier. The guides were excellent and offered great restaurant recommendations for after our journey. It was the highlight of our trip to Iceland.

Costly but enjoyable
Russell_S, Mar 2023
A very good experience and very knowledgeable guide the tour was 3 hours which was expected however the actual time on the snowmobiles is around 45 mins the rest of the time is kitting up and taking the massive ATV up the mountain to the snowmobiles so around £285 /2 (persons)= 145.5pounds for 45mins =£3.16 per minute very costly but enjoyable
Exceeded expectations!

This really exceeded my expectations. I will say that you are a bit at the mercy of the other people in your group and we got lucky with a crew that was very comfortable going fast. I had seen other reviews where things went a bit slower and I can see how that’s disappointing. We were able to ride around for a while and the top of the glacier. It was pretty awesome. This ended up being one of the biggest highlights of my trip to Iceland.
Great afternoon on the glacier.

If you are a confident rider get on a snowmobile near the front.

Before starting we want to emphasise that this was our experience. This trip was very expensive and we must say we expected more. We fully expected to be in a line behind a supervisor however there were approximately 20 snowmobiles following each other. Some people are not as confident as others and we appreciate that safety is paramount but we have been on trips where the slower people who are quickly identifiable were put into a separate line allowing more confident riders to have a more satisfying experience. We were constantly stopping for people who came off course or overturned their vehicles. Our two snowmobiles were near the back and some in front of us were over 100 yards behind the leaders. For me and my wife the experience was disappointing however I am quite sure others would have found it thrilling.
Great activity

Highly recommend - especially for thrill seekers. We were really lucky with the weather and views were amazing. Think there should be more initial instructions, especially about how to manoveure the tricky start.
Crap

Cancelled 7 minutes before arrival time sand I’d driven 70 miles (140 mile round trip) not good enough, they stated weather, it hadn’t changed all morning!
Beautiful views, period.

The scenery was spectacular. The guides were friendly. We were dressed ready in the van and then told we needed to wait for a bus that was late. We waited 25+min before we finally left for the tour. Why was my time not respected and appreciated? Poor decision. Also the instructions on how to use the snowmobile could and should have been done before we left rather than the top of the glacier, freezing cold, with wind whipping. Last, there were 2 sleds of young women who barely touched the throttle and had to get off the sled to walk up a hill as they were too scared to drive. They “led” our excursion. This was plain stupid, and frankly a bit dangerous as they kept stopping. They should have been directed to the back of the group.
Skip this tour--boring and expensive

This was disappointing and not very adventurous. We rode in a single straight line, stopped once, and came back the exact way we came staying in our original tracks. It was cloudy so there was no view. We could see a glacier outlet way off in the distance but that was it. I thought we would see more or at least go in a loop to see different scenery on the way back. I get it that glaciers are dangerous but I was hoping to get a little closer view the glacier outlet way off in the distance. There was nothing to see but flat black dusted snow in every direction. Going in one straight, single file line was boring with not much scenery. We go so slow that the mushy snow made it difficult to steer. The ride in the truck up to the snow was longer than the actual snowmobile ride. Out of all the things to do in Iceland this was the least favorite of the group and was not money well spent. I would have rather gone on a glacier hike. Skip this tour--not much adventure and not much to see if it is a cloudy day---which is almost every day in Iceland! There is too much other beauty to see in Iceland--skip this. This tour is overpriced for the lack of adventure and beauty--ride the Icelandic Horses instead, go on a hike, ATV on a black sand beach, kayak on a glacier lagoon, or hike a glacier, but skip this and save some money.
Unforgettable Experience

We had a wonderful time on the glacier. The staff was very helpful and our guide was very nice. If you are ever in the area you must do this.
Worth it

Great experience. Fun snowmobiling and great guide who told us about the glaciers and volcanos of the area.
Great for the whole family!

Fantastic views and a sunny day once we got up on the glacier!!! One thing about the weather around Vik—it can change in a matter of minutes!!!! We had rain on the rocky trip to the snowmobiling. The suits and boots provided keep you warm and dry no matter what. Everyone in our group was good and so we went pretty fast!! We also just traded drivers rather than paying extra for our own snowmobiles..
I recommend!

We had a great time. The staff did a great job! My only recommendation would be for novice snowmobilers to know that driving a snowmobile is not that easy on the first try. Falling off the snowmobile is not uncommon, and we just did not know that until we actually fell over. Lol! While we had a great time, I believe my spouse and I needed a little more experience driving the snowmobile before going up the glacier. That is not a reflection of the company or staff, but more of our lack of knowledge regarding how to operate a snowmobile. But it was an experience of a lifetime that I am grateful for!!!
A great glacier experience

We had a good time. Felt very safe. The tour could have/should have been longer but we had some slower people in the group and I think the weather was coming in.
Unless it is fine weather on the glacier, I wouldn't waste your money

I do not feel that the experience should have gone ahead since it was a total whiteout only a quarter of the way ups the glacier with virtually no visibility. We were at the back of about 6 snow mobiles and my husband is a proficient rider but the conditions were bad and we fell off, each of us in pain the following day. There was no view at the top and the winds were almost knocking us all over right next to a 400ft drop. It was much better after the fall since we were behind the guide and followed in his tracks not the tracks made my other riders which were all over the place making banks of show. Upon return, it would have been nice if the guides had checked that we were OK but nothing was said. Overall, good way to make money for an experience that people could not enjoy. Terrible.
Great trip, even with the snails
Chad_H, May 2022
Breathtaking views and awesome experience getting to ride the snowmobiles up to view the glacier. My only feedback and reason for not giving 5 stars would be to consider choosing the line order or splitting the groups into “slow” and “not slow” lanes. Some riders seemed very very timid and drove at a snails pace meaning everyone behind had to go very slow as well. There were mult times I had to stop completely to wait for those in front to move along. This took away some of the fun and feeling of adventure, but the experience was still very cool.
Best Tour Ever!

Amazing experience, the guides are amazing and entertaining! Would love to do this all over again! A very special thank you to all the guides, they made the experience enjoyable and safe!
Do this!!!

Could not recommend this experience more! From beginning to end, fantastic!!! Professional staff, great equipment, incredible views… just perfect!
Epic!!!!!!!!
Sandra_S, Apr 2022
Everything about this trip was amazing. The guides. The journey up to the snowmobiles. The weather was on our side too and riding the snowmobile was epic. Not forgetting the chance to stand on a glacier covering an active volcano. Strongly recommend. Worth every penny and ticked off several of my bucket list items in one hit 😀
Don’t miss this!

Lukas was our guide and did a great job. The only down part was that we wanted to go again as soon as it was over. Don’t miss this!
What a fantastic experience!
LYNN_M, Apr 2022
What a great trip-possibly the highlight of our trip to Iceland. We had Lukas as our guide- he was great and was really informative when we stopped each time. We were so lucky with the weather-we were above the clouds and the scenery was stunning. The glacier was huge so we were able to go really fast! The equipment we were provided with was of really good quality. A great day and one we’ll never forget!
