Good day trip out of Zurich.
J_L, Jun 2023
Martin is the guide we had gave us good info. We enjoyed Lucerne and Engleburg. In engleburg we went up to the top of the Brunni Bahnen by cable car and continue with chairlift for around $52 round trip. It’s beautiful up there. Just 10 mins walk from downtown past the monastery.
Excellent

A wonderful days experience

Excellent experience, Lucerne was a vibrant, beautiful and picturesque town. Engelberg was a very quaint little village. You may want to sign up for the trip up the mountain; Titlus and skip the trip into Engelberg.
Simple tour
MariaCristina_M, Apr 2023
Just average... this tour is simply bringing one to Lucerne and Engelberg. You will becon your own to explore the place. Lucerne is nice to shop at while Engelberg is a quiet and pretty small town.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Maria Cristina, Thank you very much for joining our partly guided tour to the alpine village of Engelberg and rating your experience. We are very sorry to hear that our tour did not live up to your expectations. As officially stated in the tour description in Viator, this is a partly guided tour where our guests are accompanied by a professional and multilingual tour guide from Zurich to Engelberg and return in the evening. Our guests enjoy approx. 3 hours of free time in Engelberg to explore the village at their own pace. For this unguided part, our guests receive an informative booklet with recommendations of sights and activities during their stay in Engelberg, meeting time information, and the upgrade option to Mt Titlis in case guests change their minds and prefer to ascend the mountain. While it cannot be compared with a city, the little village of Engelberg has multiple activities to keep oneself busy; visit the picturesque Benedictine Monastery, opt for a walking route with views of the valley, or even hop on a TrottiBike Scooter and drive through the forest from the middle station of Gerschnialp down to Titlis valley station. We hope that you still enjoyed a wonderful stay in Switzerland and look forward to welcoming you on tour on your next visit to our beautiful country. Best regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Not much to do if you stay and walk around Engelberg. Kind of boring
Dave_A, Apr 2023
Scenery was best part of trip. Not much to occupy your time in Engelberg. Most everything was closed
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Dear Dave, Thank you very much for participating in our tour to the alpine village of Engelberg and sharing your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear that our tour didn’t meet your expectations. Engelberg is a Swiss alpine village with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. While it is not to be compared with a city, there are different activities available for those interested in city sightseeing and outdoors. You can find the picturesque Benedictine Monastery, opt for a walking route with views of the valley, or even hop on a TrottiBike Scooter and drive through the forest from the middle station of Gerschnialp down to Titlis valley station. During low season, it may be that some shops are closed but there are still things to keep oneself busy. Our guests receive a comprehensive information booklet with upgrade options as well as recommendations of sights and activities. We hope that the beautiful landscapes partly made up for some of the inconveniences and that you were still able to enjoy a wonderful stay in Switzerland. Best regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours
Sunny Day to Lucerne
Lisa_S, Apr 2023
Beautiful sunny day to experience the country on our way to Lucerne and Engelberg. So happy we made the decision to extend and ride the gondola to the top of Mt. Titlis.
Beautiful Lucern but very short
Alejandro_R, Mar 2023
The driver and the guide were nice and friendly. The information was very useful and important. The 3 hours in Engrlberg are very long. The should split the visit to Mount Titlis from the visit to Lucern and Engelberg
Great trip
Pallavi_V, Mar 2023
Our tour guide was Lars. He was great at his professional job. We loved his speech and the way he spoke and explained the facts and about the places we visited.
Amazingly wonderful experience!!!
jonalanuza, Dec 2022
Everything was wonderful!!! From and back to Zurich!!! The best part was the Mt. Titlis, highly recommended! Worth the money! Well done to our tour guide Ana and the driver!!! Every details were explained well!
VERY disappointing
Julie_K, Nov 2022
We really enjoyed the Lucerne part. We found the Engleberg part very long. We had over 3 hours there. There was nothing hardly open and a cold and wet day. The annoying part was we were told to be back at 4.45 pm and DO NOT BE LATE. We were all there by 4.30pm and the bus was there but the Driver had gone shopping. It was raining and very cold. He came back about 5 minutes late with his shopping! We were stood waiting in the rain as there was no cover. Not happy as all tours want you back on time. The lady Rebecca, the tour guide was amazing!
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Dear Julie, Thank you very much for joining our Engelberg tour and taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear that our Engelberg tour didn’t meet your expectations and you had the feeling it was too extensive. Engelberg is a Swiss alpine village that offers different activities for those that like city sightseeing and outdoors. You can find the picturesque Benedictine Monastery, opt for a walking route with views of the valley, or even go ice skating. During winter, it may be that some shops are closed but there are still things to keep oneself busy. We always try to communicate the details of the program as detailed as possible to avoid experiences like yours. In Viator, it is stated that this is a partly-guided tour where our guests can enjoy 3 hours at leisure to discover Engelberg. Still, we appreciate your feedback and will consider it as a suggestion for improvement. We take punctuality seriously and thus expect our guests to be on time so that we can arrive at all the locations as planned. If guests arrive late, we always wait 5 minutes. This is something that not only guests must respect but also our drivers and we apologize if the driver wasn’t there on time. Nevertheless, we are glad to hear that the delay was not longer than 5 minutes but we will gladly pass on this feedback to avoid this kind of situation from happening again. We hope you take a positive memory from our beautiful country and hope to welcome you on tour soon again (hopefully with better weather). Kind regards, Ambika from Best of Switzerland Tours Team
Excellent beautiful mountain scenery on top of Mount Titlis!
VIOLET_S, Nov 2022
It is so beautiful there in Engelberg and Lucerne! The most memorable times I had is when we were riding the Titlis Rotair, the revolving cable car up in the air! we reached the very top of Titlis mountain, it is so beautiful on top of the snowy mountain, it was excellent! Violet
ITS NECESSARY TO CORRECT AND IMPRUVE THIS SITUATION
JoseManuelMonteagudo, Aug 2022
ALL THE SAME, they prefer to sold adittional VISITS to climb mounts Pilatos or Titlis... but they dont work well on visit Cities: Lucerne or Engelberg. In Lucerne they stop about ONLY ONE HOUR!!! not time to visit some important points of this big city (like the Lyon of Lucerne). Oposit that they give us A LOT OF FREE TIME in Engelberg - a little place - where NOTHING IMPORTANT TO DO and NOT GUIDED
Response from Host, Aug 2022
Dear Jose, Thank you very much for joining our tour to Lucerne and Engelberg and for sharing your experience with us. As stated in your tour description, the tour is accompanied by a professional multilingual tour guide from Zurich to Engelberg and back again in the evening. For the 3 hours at leisure in Engelberg, we provide our guests with an extensive booklet including an orientation map and recommendations for various activities. While the alpine village cannot be compared to bigger towns, there are plenty of things available to do: From a visit to the monastery and the enclosed cheese dairy to a hike through alpine meadows to a funicular ride followed by a Trottibike scooter ride back down to the valley - Engelberg offers something for all guests! Guests that prefer a fully-guided tour have the option to purchase an upgrade to Mount Titlis or Mount Pilatus (subject to availability), where they will be accompanied throughout the date. On any of the tours, our guests get to spend 40-60 minutes in Lucerne, during which they can visit the most famous landmarks (such as the Lion Monument) independently on foot. We are sorry to hear that the partly-guided tour did not meet your expectations and hope to welcome you on one of our fully-guided mountain excursions during your next visit! Best regards, Amanda from Best of Switzerland Tours
Bait and Switch

Wish were had been told that Everything in Engleberg is closed on Mondays! It was hard to be dropped in a village that was closed and told we would be picked up in 3 hours! Or we could pay 200.00 more dollars and have a tour up the mountain.
Lucerne and Engelberg day trip

Lucerne city was stunning and Engelbert was beautiful too with its mountain panoramic views. Pity weather broke down when there, but otherwise enjoyable trip
Amazing

Tour not scheduled before to Mount Titlis. Snow and glaciers. Thrilling experience! Nothing else to add!
Should've listened to other reviews
Joseph_B, Dec 2019
Drive to Lucerne was beautiful, but only got one hour to spend in Lucerne. What they don't tell you is there are two groups on the bus, one goes to Mt. Titlis and the people who book this Engelberg only tour are dropped off in town for hours with no guide or anything to do. Walked several laps around town, stores and restaurants were closed. Both the your guide before leaving the bus and the people in the visitors center said there isn't much to do. There's a monestary there that isn't open to the public until right before the bus picks you up. And the "cheese factory" is the size of an average fast food restaurant with just a TV showing how cheese is made. Could spend about 30 minutes in town and see it all. I ended up finding a cafe to have a croissant and a water. The rest I just walked lap after lap around the ghost town in the snow until the bus came. If you don't want to waste a day, either pay a lot more to go up Mt. Titlis or just book the all day Lucerne tour. This one was a waste of money.

Dear Joseph, Thank you very much for rating your experience of our day tour to Lucerne and Engelberg. We are sorry to hear that our tour did not live up to your expectations and would like to go into the criticized points in more detail. It is correct that the bus had guests from different tours on board on your date of travel. The merging of groups allows us to offer not only tours to well-known destinations such as Mt. Titlis, but also to smaller but not less interesting places with lower guest numbers such as the destination of your choice. As officially stated in our programme, our tour is accompanied by a professional multilingual guide from Zurich via Lucerne to Engelberg and back to Zurich. In between, the guests discover the village on their own with the help of a comprehensive information booklet with upgrade options as well as recommendations of sights and activities. Engelberg is a typical Swiss alpine village with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. While it is not to be compared with a city, there are various activities available in the outdoor paradise: one can visit the baroque-style Benedictine monastery with its own cheese factory (live cheese making from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), hike one of the many trails (more than 500 km) in the beautiful surroundings or rent a bike an hit the trails. We hope that you were able to enjoy a wonderful stay in Switzerland and look forward to welcoming you back on our tours on your next trip to Zürich. Best regards, Best of Switzerland Tours
Unacceptable trip
Natalia_D, Oct 2019
This trip is very very bad, viator leave us in Engelberg for 3,5 hours, there is no something interesting in Engelberg, 1 hour is more than enough, it would be better if you delete this tour
